The bed is exactly what you see in the picture, it was delivered in less than two weeks and as long as you have a helping hand, the assembly isn't all too bad. It's not flimsy at all and the "pleather" is soft and luminous. I definitely recommend this bed, it's beautiful.
We received the bed within two weeks of ordering it online. The bed arrived well-packed, without any damage to the boxes or the bed (there were four boxes). The assembly was straightforward -- though you do have to take a minute to make sure you screw on the feet correctly so that they are symmetrical. I did not get the feet right on the first try. It helps to have an electric screw driver because there are a lot of wood screws (though, they did drill most holes). It would have helped had they drilled holes in the feet, but I didn't have any trouble hand-screwing them in. Also, the center support beam under the bed barely held with the length of the wood screws provided. I used a few longer screws I had around and it works fine. Altogether it took me between two and three hours to put it together, including the time I took studying the instructions. The bed feels supportive and the slats are close together. The fabric looks and feels similar to real leather. The top-stitching is a contrast color -- a dark tan/camel color. It is a very clean and sturdy bed design. I am very happy with the purchase and love the savings.
The bed came in four boxes and on opening looked like it would go together easily. Ran into a problem right off the bat, the bed legs had hard rubber rests. That's fine for wood floors but not carpeted ones. Had to buy some bed casters and then drill out the legs (7 of them) and install the casters - while checking for height differences (had to pre-assembly and check for level, middle legs were the problem). Got that done and put the bed together in the bedroom. When installing the slats - found that the wood screws were too short (1 inch long, should of been 1 1/2 inches). Had a choice of re-counter boring the slats - all of them, or buying longer screws. Bought the longer screws and finished the installation. The bed looks good and fits the room, took 2 1/2 hours to assemble, with all the changes.
I was pleasantly surprised and completely satisfied with the Torino Cal King Bed we purchased from Overstock.com. It was our first purchase and I must say it won't be the last. The bed far exceeded our expectations as far as quality and value. It is the centerpiece of our new master bedroom. A great product at a fantastic price.
Upside, the bed came in just 2-3 weeks, nicely packed. Once put together it looks great. Downside, for me, this bed was torture to put together. The instructions were ridiculously bad. The feet were not pre-drilled for the attachment plates and then difficult to figure out which way the plates went on. The wood screws are too short and I had to buy longer ones. It came with 2 sets of washers/bolts. The second set was smaller and it was drilled out for the larger so yet another purchase. The wood is VERY soft and when I predrilled the pilot hole for the slats, the wood split on the side rail support, ARGHH. Again, once together it's beautiful. Bad instructions, wrong hardware and soft wood split made for a difficult assembly.
Although I have yet to sleep on it - The bed looks gorgeous, it was easy to assemble accept that the wood screws that are given with the bed are to short - you need to buy a screw that is twice as long as the one they give. Also the instructions are a bit screwy when it comes to putting on the legs but once the bed is up you don't notice it. Overall the leather feels incredible and the bed looks great
The bed arrived in perfect condition, and when assembled, it looks fantstic. The bed looks every bit as good as it does in the photo (better in fact), and the workmanship on the bed is very good. It is sturdy and feels solid, and it provides ample support for the mattress or box spring. The bed shipped within a couple of days of placing the order and arrived very quickly. The only "bad" thing is that the assembly instructions are almost unintelligible and it is difficult to figure out which way the legs go on to the frame. But that down side is very minor when compared to the overall quality of the product. It helps to have an electric screwdriver to put this bed together. Assembly took less than 2 hours.
