I purchased 3 of these to hang over my kitchen island. I couldn't be happier. The fixtures look beautiful and really expensive, and you can't beat this price. I have hung my share of light fixtures and these are not easy, but not terrible. The crystals take a long time. There are 24 strings on the top and 24 on the bottom. They attach to the fixture at the base like a key ring and then in the middle like a clasp. You need to make sure you attach them in the right direction, so do one strand completely before moving to the next. A few things to note before getting started: The hot wire is hard to distinguish from the neutral - but you can feel that there's an extra ridge. Normally light fixtures come with one link that is a clasp so you can cut the chain to size and easily reattach the top. These do not. It's difficult to open and close a link without damaging it, so you may want to look for a link that opens (I used a zip tie temporarily). They also don't take a full sized chandelier light bulb. You'll need bulbs that are a little shorter. Finally, two of my three fixtures had no issues, but one had problems with parts that screwed together sticking. To save yourself frustration, check the parts that screw together first. A little bit of cooking spray fixed the issues I had with my one problem fixture. I love, love, love the result and which I could share photos. The fixtures are a GREAT value.
This Chandelier took so long to put together because the instructions were not properly detailed. After two hours of putting it together, and finally placed up in the ceiling it was just beautiful. It was nicely priced and just shines in my dining room. Thanks to all the review I read, I got great feedback before I even bought it. I'm very satisfied.
I bought this chandelier for the 2nd landing of my winding staircase. There is a very large lovely chandelier in the main hallway/foyer but I needed something a bit smaller but equally bright and elegant. This fixture is beyond words. The entire landing and upstairs hallway is so amazing. There are a number of other light fixtures I also ordered from overstock to really upgrade my home and I must say, for the most part, they are all very very amazing. You will not be disappointed!!
This light requires a lot of sweat equity to install. It takes hours and hours to add crystals. The one end has a key ring type loop that requires a tweezer to open and get onto lamp. I also must tell you that when you are instructed to point 3 lights down, it cannot take a bulb. You have to point them at a 45 degree angle and find SMALL ceiling fan bulbs. Instructions were horrible.
Yes, this chandelier takes a bit of time to assemble, however, It is not too difficult. Yes, it looks a bit cheap before it goes up. That being said, it is just lovely when it is installed. You may want to consider a dimmer on this one as it is incredibly bright! Looks great in my 1920's home. Great value for the price.
I had wanted the $2k version of this at a high end retail store but didn't want to spend that much money. I saw this one, the exact shape I've been wanting and I finally got my chanfelier for my bathroom! The affordable cost includes the "cost" of your time to put it together, but it is worth it. Beautiful!
The chandelier is pretty and costs less than if you buy it at a light store BUT.....,,it took many hours and patience and determination to put this together . The instructions for attaching crystals are not there. I would suggest Overstock or distributor add some pictures and more detail to the instructions or maybe a video how to on line. . My husband who has a lot of patience was very frustrated putting it together . I'm lucky he was willing or I would have returned the chandelier . Also asking questions on line does not have a quick turn around time fior answers . It seems to take a day or more. Couldnt find a customer service telephone number . I may not purchase from Overstock again especially anything that requires assembly .
