Purchased a beautiful EKing bed from Overstock and asked for their assistance in selecting a mattress. They suggested we try the SwissLux 10 inch European-style memory foam mattress. Have loved the mattress from the first night we slept on it. Husband is a tall, large man and was not certain he would like the firmness. He was the first to say how much better felt after sleeping on this mattress.Read More
Swiss lux is more on the firm side of mattresses but I greatly enjoy it. I often have back pain, shoulder and hip pain from my job but I know as soon as I lay down I will be resting comfortably. I actually loved this mattress so much I purchased a second one of a smaller size for use when I am staying in another state!Read More
A friend with back problems recommended this bed to us so we had high expectations. We opened it up in an empty spare room and within a few hours it was full size. We didn't notice any odor at all actually. However we didn't really go in the room for a few days and weren't sleeping on it. Overall we had it out of the bag for two days before sleeping on it. I am not sure how anyone would consider this firm! I mean it has a gel top and I sink into it and after 20 minutes or so I feel like the mattress is swallowing me. I am normally a stomach and side sleeper and due to sinking into the mattress my back killed me the first few days. I try to sleep on my back more and it doesn't bother me as much. My girl friend normally sleeps on her side and her back is still bothering her. We have been sleeping on it for about a week now and they say the adjustment period is 30 days. Honestly if it wasn't nearly impossible to return it I probably would. I want to love this mattress and I love the idea of a memory foam mattress, but I can't love it.. Coupled with the fact it will start sagging after a few years (friend had his for 3 years now and he said his is sagging).. This may be a better purchase for a store than online next time.Read More
We got about a year out of this mattress and after that started experiencing the sag that goes along with off brand memory foam. After flipping it over, we got another month or two, but it's now sagging severely. I thought for awhile that the inexpensive mattresses were the way to go, but after 3 cheap mattresses failing in about as many years I'm getting a name brand mattress with a warranty.Read More
Both my girlfriend and I are extremely happy with this mattress. For us, most of the odor went away after the first day although we let it sit for two more to come to its full height. The bed is firm but still comfortable. We have not experienced any sweating with this bed although perhaps that is because we purchased a very nice mattress cover at a local department store. I am so glad that we took the gamble on this mattress as we have found it to be not only an exceptional bargain but even more comfortable than the name brands sold in stores that cost so much more. Of course, I realize that everybody wants and needs something different out of a mattress. If you do not like a regular one that is firm, you might not care for this type of thing. On the other hand, my girlfriend normally prefers a soft mattress and she is crazy about this one made out of memory foam. If possible, at least try some out at a local store if not actually sleep on one before buying it. However, I wil also say this...if you are on the fence about buying this mattress or are afraid that it is not as comfortable as one you have tried in the store, for me, the gamble paid off quite handsomely.Read More
It's been over two months now and I'm soooo happy with this mattress. I am 6 months pregnant and can tell a huge difference in how well I sleep this pregnancy vs. last one on a regular mattress. Very easy to make yourself comfortable and the firmness is perfect. I love that my husband and I don't disturb each other at all if one of us is up frequently, which happens plenty with a toddler in the house. I've noticed lately that my daughter wants to sleep in our bed more and more often and I can't help but think we've spoiled her from her toddler mattress and I'm going to have to upgrade her to memory foam as well. I also tend to run hot and especially can't stand to be hot when sleeping so that was a concern when buying memory foam since I've heard a lot of related complaints but I've had no problems whatsoever on the temperature. I use a wool comforter (something else I highly recommend) and the two are perfect together. I could go on and on but basically will sum up that this was a great purchase and I'm extremely happy with this mattress.Read More
we weere shopping for a new mattress to replace our soft side waterbed. Had no idea about mattreses so we went by the reviews and purchased this kingsize Memory Foam Mattress. Only negative thing that we were aware of was people complaining about the chemical smell lingering. We have had this a few weeks now smell is not a consideration and it is a firm mattress that lives up to the reviews that others have posted. I would recommend it I think it has good value for the money.Read More
We love this bed! I slept great from the first night! It is very firm at first, but once you are settled in it conforms, and gives slightly to your body! My husband and I are fairly large people so I was worried about about how well the bed will hold up! So far so good, and with a twenty year manufacturer's warranty you can't go wrong! The price was great, and $2.95 shipping for a king sized mattress is awesome!Read More
bed is firm at first, takes a little while to get used to sleepig on memory foam. keeps you cool when you need it, and warm when you need it. very happy with purchase -- couldnt have bought a king size mattress for this price -- so even if it was horrible, we really werent out that much. -- would definately reccomend to anyone. --Read More

Best Reasons to Have a California King Bed

Making a decision between the two might be difficult. Ultimately, both are great options, but there are a few conditions that might make a California king size bed the clear choice. There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.
FAQs about California King Mattresses

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses
