Exactly what I was looking for. I live in a small apartment and this is perfect. It did require hard wiring, I thought it just plugged into the wall.

Installation was incredibly difficult...had to call my handyman brother-in-law to install them. Liked the look however, the fancy-schmancy metal curly-q-thingys bent upon installation and a few broke completely off the swing-arm. I will have to try to remove the remaining decorative pieces and have bought a metal file to smooth off the places where they broke off. Hopefully, it'll be an easy fix, but if I'm ever in the market for something like these in the future, I'll have to see it in person first before I purchase them.

I bought two of these pretty lamps. They went together with just a few problems. However, we were able to finish the project without hiring anyone else. The only negative impression I have has is that the shade is fairly small and my hand brushes it when I turn it on or off--a minor issue as my hands are typically clean! They have a finish that looks like it would be rough and maybe difficult to dust, but the lamps are easy to clean. We had a missing part, but Overstock's Customer Service Live Chat representative was very helpful and I got the part within about a week of my "chat."

Very pleased with prompt delivery & quailty of this lamp. It was more difficult to mount than I expected. Overall a good value.

THE LAMPS ARE A DELIGHT! WE PURCHASED 2 OF THE LAMPS FOR OUR NEW HOME. WE DECIDED THAT WE LIKED THE SIMPLE LINES OF THE LAMPS AND THE COLOR OF THE METAL AND THE SHADES. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED WHEN THEY ARRIVED. THEY ARRIVED IN A TIMELY FASHION AND WERE PACKED SO THAT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE CONTENTS INSIDE THE BOX. MY HUSBAND DID A STELLAR JOB INSTALLING THE LAMPS, BUT WE FOUND THAT THE DIRECTIONS COULD USE A LITTLE WORK ON DETAIL, BUT MY HUSBAND PUTS THINGS TOGETHER ALL THE TIME AND HAD THEM UP IN LESS THAN 2 HOURS. THEY ADDED SUCH AN AMBIANCE TO THE ROOM AND WITH A 40 WATT LIGHT BULB, READING IS AGAIN A PLEASURE. THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING SUCH QUALITY PRODUCTS FOR THE CONSUMER TO BUY. I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THESE LAMPS TO OTHER BUYERS.

Very high quality, and beautiful design. We happened to have an electrician working anyway and installing and wiring plug was a snap for him, less than 30 minutes. Probably would have taken us longer, hence minus one star in review. I am very happy with the purchase.

I read them, so I feel I should write one......I just purchased this lamp, it wasn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be to assemble/mount onto the wall. If you have a basic understanding of using anchors into walls you will be fine. The workmanship of the product leaves much to be desired however They give you an assortment of different types of wall anchoring screws, etc that you likely don't need. Simply use 3/8" anchors and appropriate screws and you'll be fine. It's not that heavy that it would come out of a wall. attaching the plug end to the cord is simple, and it worked like a charm the first try (I suggest trying the plug assembly BEFORE cutting to desired length). Also the bracket that holds the wire cove to the wall helps keep the main assembly straight and from moving which it will do slightly when you move the swing arm as the mounting isn't the best designed.Either way, good purchase, looks great and not as bad as others have said. 30 min job. dont read instructions, just use your head and figure it out!

Although we had some shipping issues, we are very satisfied with the quality and the price of the lamps we ordered. It did take a bit of time to put them together but it wasn't a difficult task.

The product was exactly as advertised, easy to install, and works perfectly.

I would only recommend it to someone with some experience with lamp assembly. I had read the reviews so I was somewhat prepared. The instructions were not helpful or complete. I had another wall lamp in the house, so I took it apart to see how the assembly should look. Then, and only then, could I figure out how to assemble my product. Fortunately I had two so the second one went together much faster. It was a good value for the money, but I painted mine with a rub n buff, first in gold and then in silver. They look really sharp on each side of the bed in the master bedroom.

We were impressed with the lamps online and were more than happy when they arrived. They were even more impressive than we thought. They look elegant in our bedroom, make a wonderful accessory to our new bedstead and have adequate light for reading. My husband, who normally is very adept, found the assembly somewhat challenging, But it was well worth the effort.

We liked the first one we bought so much we bought another.

I really like the look of this light. It is JUST what I wanted! The ironwork is lovely. I had searched many web sites for this same lamp and this was the BEST price! Why pay more? Now, I can see to read at night in bed. However, it took my husband and I QUITE awhile to assemble it to our wall (since not all the parts listed were in the packaging). We managed to improvise, and it is now sturdy and working perfect. In fact, I am thinking of purchasing one for HIS side of our bed also. Just not sure we're ready to go through the hastle of getting it up there again.

For the cost - these lamps are an excellent value. They required some creativity on the part of my husband to mount them securely, but they look great.

I think the lamp looks great. I like the look and size of the oatmeal shade. It only comes with sheetrock fasteners so I used those and also put two big screws through the plate into the stud. The two screws that hold the plate to the lamp were also too small, but with bigger screws it was fine. The connectors between the rods for the electric cord were too small and the cord would not go through, but it does go through the rods.

These lamps were a very good value for the price. They match the rest of my bronze fixtures throughout the house nicely. The box says "just plug in" so I was a little surprised when I pulled them out of the box and there was no plug at the end of the cord! But after reading the directions, I found that the cord threads through the metal tubing and then you slide the plug over the end. The tubing also had some plastic inserts that I ended up having to pull out with a screw driver before I could get the cord through. Over all the assembly and hanging wasn't to difficult, but then I have a handy husband who did most of it. I am very pleased with the way they look!

We purchased 2 of the swing arm lamps for our bedroom. The first one took us a while to install, but the second one went much quicker. I agree the instructions were very skimpy, but we eventually figured it out. We have really enjoyed the lamps and for the price, they were just what we wanted.

This is a very pretty light but the instructions were horrible, didn't make sense, and left out important info, and the pics of the items were a little off. The worst part is the spindle didn't fit to keep the shade on securely. I had to steal one from another lamp of mine. Because of that, I probably wouldn't recommend this lamp, though it was a great price and very pretty.

First of all, this thing came with a broken part. I did get a new part. It was not the easiest to put together. The cord didn't thread through poles the easiest, plus the instructions were wrong. I know this because I called the manufacturer to question the instructions. She said the instructions were wrong and they were aware of that fact. She said this model was discontinued. Thank goodness.

1) assembly is easy, but you'll likely need an extra pair of hands due to weight to steady fixture when mounting it to the base plate you premount to wall. 2) this takes regular standard base bulbs not special or candleabra base bulbs. 3) i replaced the standard shade support hoop w/a taller hoop ($4 hardware store) to use a 23w flourescant/100w equivalent bulb. birdman
