I tried to cheap out on the basic "waffle" grid rug pad. It was....ok.
I finally decided to get a decent pad and yes, it DOES make a difference.
The rug lays better and feels thicker.
I had a difficult time determining the difference between "Deluxe", "Superior", "Supreme" felt pads but was able to find the thickness differences in the Q&A.
I bought 2 pads for different size rugs and had to cut one down. It wasn't too bad with a scissors. (The edge is not as crisp or perfectly straight as the non-cut side) But it's underneath the rug and doesn't show.
Yes, it was worth it!
This is a great rug pad especially for the money. At first when I laid it out on the floor, I was concerned that the wrinkles would show through on the sisal rug I was putting on top of it would show through. After a day or two of laying out flat and placing the sisal rug on top, no wrinkles. I had to trim off some of the sides of the pad because my sisal was a 9x12 and this pad is a 9x13, a little tough to cut through but not bad. Just shows that this is a quality product that I would purchase again.
Bought this rug pad to fit under my 9'6" x 13'6" rug, also purchased on Overstock. The pad is just the right size; I had no need to trim or cut. I selected this rug pad after reading reviews on several competing items at Overstock, and this one appeared to be most highly recommended. My rug stays in place and is wonderfully soft to walk on. As usual with Overstock, it shipped and arrived within a matter of just a few days.
Great pad and easy to trim down. I put this pad under a cream shag area rug I purchased on Overstock. The rug was soft but this is such a nice thick pad it made my new area rug seem even thicker and softer. Love it.
I had never purchased a rug pad before and relied heavily on other buyers reviews. I am overly happy with my purchase of this pad. It adds a great layer of plushness to our new wool rug. Our rug is a 10'x14' and the pad had to be trimmed a little. It was easy to trim with household scissors. We are using the excess piece under a runner rug. So a two for one!
Hello, you would need an all felt rug pad. This one has rubber on the back that could cause damage to your heated floors. Here is one that will work for you #14202509.overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 11, 2013
Here are the care instructions: Vacuum or shake out debris. Spot clean as needed with mild detergent and water. If the pad should get wet, do not cover with a rug until the pad is completely dry. Do not professionally clean with the pad still underneath the rug as neither will dry completely. overstockcustomercare1 on Oct 29, 2012
I would just vacuum. Mine is huge, so that's about all I could do. It is very heavy duty and I prefer over the rubber backing type. It does not slide. Makes the rug seem even more luxurious.lewinslow on Aug 8, 2013
Can tell you heavy and thick. Mine is extra large and it took all 4 in our family to fold it out and center. I think 2 could have, but it is really heavy and great quality.lewinslow on Aug 8, 2013
can this padding be used with engineered hardwood floors? on Aug 13, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for your interest. This rug pad is great for carpet or hard surfaces.overstockcustomercare1 on Aug 14, 2012
I bought this and it really is mix of textures with a heavy duty felt material. We have it on our hardwoods and have had no problem. I chose because it had no rubber that would maybe stick or leave a residue.lewinslow on Aug 8, 2013
