Excellent value on this rug pad. From the lessons learned column: Even if you have wall to wall carpeting, and want to lay an area rug down, you should purchase a pad. Your area rug will lay better, and wear better. When you receive it, it will be folded. Unfold it and then roll it up. Let sit for a day, then unroll it and re-roll it in the opposite direction. Let it sit a day or so. This will help take any creases out and will allow it to sit on the floor flat. Learned this trick from a carpet installer.

The rug pad arrived super fast, in just two days. It was a little large for our rug but easy to trim with scissors. Another reviewer mentioned odor, but it was very mild, much less than the smell of our rug when it was new. (I am very sensitive to odors.) The pad makes our average quality rug seem much more plush and only for a few dollars more than the rubber waffle from a big box store that we have bought in the past. We will be buying this pad in another size for a different rug.

We were looking for a rug with multiple deep colors of brown, burgundy, avocado/sage and gold to change up the look in my elderly father's den. My deceased mom had bought a multi-color braded rug MANY years ago that had become quite worn out and faded. Since the couch was replaced last year, it was the perfect time to finally get rid of the old rug. But, after looking and looking for an 8X10 oval rug to replace it, I gave up and ordered this rectangular one, hoping it would be OK so I would not have to package up a big rug to return it! What a wonderful difference this rug has made in my dad's den. I was wrong to worry about changing the shape from oval. The rectangular shape has made the room look much larger. The rug has all the colors as described, which is what I wanted, and is more vibrant than in the picture. It feels great under bare feet, too. Because it is not real thick, I took other reviewers' recommendations and ordered a good pad from the O at the same time. This makes it very soft, but firm to walk on and I feel it will increase the duration of its wear, even though it was not an expensive rug. We are very pleased with the color, size, feel and price of this rug. It also came wrapped very well to protect it, though easy to unwrap and lay-out.

This is a high quality carpet pad, the only issue is that it's larger than the 8'x10' rug I bought it to put it under. Looks like this is a common problem with this pad. I arranged my carpet best as I could to hide the excess pad as I didn't want to cut it.

This has a nice felt top and a rubber gripper bottom. It came folded up and laid flat instantly. It was easy to cut (I had to trim about 6 inches off 2 of the sides). The felt grips the rug and the rubber grips the floor so nothing moves. It also made the rug a little more comfy to sit and walk on due to the extra cushion. I am saving the scraps I cut off for other rugs in my home. I am very pleased with this purchase.

It wasn't 8x10 but it was close. If you are looking for something exactly that size I would recommend going larger and cutting it down. It was easy to cut with a utility knife and a straight edge. I would recommend.

This product does what was expected: keeps rug from sliding & provides extra padding under our area rug. Be aware you must cut it (which was easy with scissors).

I purchased this carpet pad for a new carpet in my recording studio. It added just the right amount of cushion, and the under surface is protecting my nice cork floor. I read one review that said it smelled, I did NOT have that problem. Everything was great with it. I haven't tried spilling anything on it to see how it handles it. I suppose it's like any other carpet: clean it quick! I ended up using a utility blade to trim off an inch or two around the edge so my carpet sat better, but I've done that with every pad I've purchased. I highly recommend this for the price!

Was probably overkill to put this felt pad under my new Safavieh indoor outdoor rug, but it certainly seems to be doing the job! It is fairly thick (I think it weighed more than the rug!), and took some strength to cut to size (my rug is 7'10 x 7'10"), but it worked and I think was a good investment!

I would recommend this pad for anyone thinking of purchasing one of these nice rugs. Makes it feel so plush and like my little grandson said, just makes my feet feel good. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong.

Perfect pad for an area rug placed on laminate or hardwood floors. It needed slight trimming as the pad was a little larger than the rug, but this is done easily enough with a pair of good scissors. Great feature though as rugs are not always a perfectly exact size.

I have been very satisfied with this product. It is about 1/4 inch thick and made of a felt-like material that is quite dense. It cuts to size with a heavy duty pair of scissors-although I got a blister doing it. It does not slide at all on my hard wood floors and adds a nice thickness to the rug that is over it. I am very happy with this product

I really like this rug pad and I'm happy I purchsed it. I had the traditional waffle like pad and everytime the furniture moved the rug pad bunched up under the rug. This felt pad is heavier and adds some nice structure to the rug. Walking on the rug is really nice as is vaccumming. I am really glad I invested in this pad. It was well worth it.

after ordering the first one, I ordered another one for the other room. I think I first had it upsidedown because both are on carpet under an 8 by 10 rug. Did a little trimming--but rather that than too small.---I had some continuing wrinkles th first time. much better now!!
