This stuff is a pain in the rear to cut...have a sharp carpet knife and spare blades....but it's so worth it. On hardwood, my rugs don't budge, neither my runners nor large rugs. On carpet, with it flipped over, soft side down, it's like velcro with the berber in my basement rental. PERFECT....my toddler and 110-lb lab can barely move the hall runner if at all, ever, whereas it used to slide all over the carpeted hallway. It's thick and makes rugs so much softer and comfier. I can't imagine using anything else now, I've bought it for every rug in my house. Make sure to cut it smaller than your rug...a couple of inches, so the edges of your rug can settle...these pads are thick and make it easy to trip over the edge of a rug if they are cut too large.

I had just bought a quality wool rug for over 1k but it just looked kind of limp on the floor and I thought it could really benefit from a good pad. All I could find locally were the rubber things they call pads and that wasn't what I wanted. I decided to try Overstock and found just what I was looking for. It arrived quickly and my husband and I easily put it down and rolled the rug over it. What a nice difference! It gave the rug definition and shape and it is much nicer to walk on too. I'd definitely recommend the pad to anyone looking for one. I put it under a $1400 rug and it made the rug look even better... You won't be sorry about this purchase!

A very nice Rug pad. Well made and has a anti skid backing that holds the Carpet solidly. I have 4 Great Danes that run around full boar and the carpet does not budge since placing the pad under the carpet. So I think under normal circumstances you will be very pleased with this pad. As for the size, it was a perfect 8X11which is exactly what I wanted and got.

I bought both the 8x11 and 6x9 superior rug pads, and they are of really great quality. I have them both on hardwood floors, and the grip is tight, without being tacky. The pads provide extra cushion, and the rugs do feel much more plush with the pads. The rug pads were shipped on time, with no problems. The only thing I will say to people who are purchasing 8x11 or larger rug pads is that they come folded, so there is a bump where the fold was, and it takes some time for the pad to flatten out. Otherwise, they were really a great purchase!

Shame on me. I read all those great reviews and looked at the photo--which made it look as though I would be getting a thick, lush pad for my new rug. Shame on me because I fell for all those reviews and forgot to call and ask the important questiion: HOW THICK IS THE PAD? It never said it in the description.Hmmm. No wonder. Here comes this very thin pad, which couldn't be more than 1/16th inch thick! At first I thought they must have sent me the wrong one, but no, it was right. It would cost more than the pad to send it back, so I'm keeping it. It will technically protect the carpet, but it certainly isn't the thick, lush pad I thought I was getting. If it looks too good to be true, it usually is. And I blame no one but MYSELF. I should have called to ask for the exact measurement. Just don't expect a very thick pad. The PHOTO is very deceiving. It is very thin.

I love this rug pad! It was just what we were looking for to put under our new hand tufted wool rug. The rug pad keeps the new rug in place on a slippery wood floor, and it gives just that little bounce when walking over the rug. We were not looking to add height to our already 0.75" wool rug, so this worked out great. I did look at rug pads similar to this at my local rug and tile store, and they were ok. This one from Overstock exceeds my local store's premium rug pad and I'm glad that I took the chance ordering. All of the reviews were very helpful with making my decision. We did get other pads for smaller wool carpets in other rooms, however, this particular rug pad is far superior and probably lasting than the other bubble/poly types. Thanks Overstock for easy ordering, fast delivery, and a great product.

When it arrived, I thought they made a mistake... then I realized it was folded. It is a nice pad, easy to flatten and didn't smell at all, which I was worried about. The price was superb. THANKS a ton overstock. I will buy again.

I'm very happy with this product. I had purchased an area rug also and had to cut a few inches off the mat to make it fit under the rug, but it was very easy. Delivery was only a few days after placing the order.

Really thick padding. Extremely hard to cut but well worth the effort.

i bought an 8x10 run and this 8x10 pad, not thinking the pad whould be smaller than the rug. I was able to cut it without too much trouble, but ruined a pair if fiscars.

We just installed hardwoods and wanted to use an area rug from our previous house. Based on other reviews, I, too, purchased the Superior Hard Surface and Carpet Rug Pad. This one is so much better than those rubber-waffle types. Walking on it feels just as it does on regular carpeting with padding. I am also going to order the 9 x 12 to use under the area rug in our dining room.

I purchased this pad to put under my new rug, which I also purchased at Overstock. I did not have a pad under my previous rug. This pad makes a HUGE difference in the feel of the rug. I can see that the rug will wear much better with this pad under it. The pad is very dense but still has a cushion--y feel to it.

This rug pad is very nice, and will enhance the feel and durability of an area rug, while protecting the floor beneath. We had a hard time finding a rug pad when we were recently rug shopping. It seems most pads available in stores are flimsy and non-durable. But this one is of excellent quality. Another great deal from Overstock!

I purchased this at the same time I purchased an area rug & it is very well made. Maybe a little pricey I'm not sure. I haven't really done much price comparison on this item, but I wanted to protect the beautiful rug I purchased with it. I feel I made a wise choice once I received it. So much so I purchased another for a rug I already had.

The rug pad feels like sandpaper on one side and there is rubbery side. It was easy to cut with a good pair of scissors and lays very nicely. Good value.

Having this quality pad under the rug makes the world of difference. I laid a sheet of cardboard under the edge and took a utility blade and trimmed the edge that showed. It work beautifully!

nice pad for the price. thick and heavy, yet easy to cut. grip on bottom touching the floor is fabulous, however with dogs running around the rug still slides off the pad.

But be careful if you're putting them near doorways because they are thick pads! These MADE the rugs!!! THey are awesome and added a luxurious feel to the rug as well as nice stabilization.

These pads are fabulous! They raise the area rug up about 1/2" - 1"...hold it in place for vacuuming and makes rug STAY in place even in high traffic areas.

I've been on the fence about getting a super thick rug pad for a few years...wish I had done it a long time ago!!
