gives the rug more heft and traction....which is the purpose of a rug pad.didn't do a lot of comparison shopping, but the price and, especially, the shipping costs seemed fair. some rug sites include a free pad, but i doubt that it is one of this quality.
This pad makes my rugs feel as though they have double the cushion. The only draw back is that the non-skid function performs very well and gives the dog enough traction to now jump up on the sofa.
Despite the paw prints on the sofa, I cannot recommend this product strongly enough.
I bought these to enhance a couple of inexpensive rugs in my family room. They really did the trick. They are much more comfortable to walk on and even the dogs like the rug better.
