This island provides our kitchen some much needed workspace, and a breakfast bar where our young daughters can gather. The butcher block construction is very sturdy and beautiful. It took my wife and I about 3 hours to put it together, the instructions are very easy to follow and everything fit together as planned. There were a few items that were damaged during shipping, and Catskill Craftsmen were very helpful in sending replacement pieces. I would highly recommend these islands to anyone interested in adding to their kitchen.

I was very happy with this item for the first couple of weeks even though it was difficult to assemble and some of the pieces did not fit very well and various adjustments had to be made. It looked great. Some of the wood is a bit darker than I expected but that is okay. Not all the wood is the same shade but that, too, is all right. The drawer is not as deep as I had expected but it is wide and still holds many small objects. The drop leaf has to be up all the time because if it goes down the drawer pops open even though the drawer is not very deep. There just is not enough room in the back for both the drawer and the drop leaf mechanism. Everything was fine until I moved it a couple of feet in order to sweep underneath it. One of the wheels fell off and the vertical corner piece (where the wheel was) shattered into several pieces resulting in the entire unit listing to the corner of the missing wheel. The opposite corner popped up and now this wheel went flying. With all this rocking back and forth the shelves in the large center section and the left side section came loose and fell down. Everything fell off the shelves. This jolted open the doors and items just flew out all over the kitchen floor. Now the entire interior looks as if is going to fall apart any moment. The bottom does not meet the frame and has little support and I am concerned that the entire thing will collapse at any time. It is so big and heavy that I have no idea how to send it back. I am so very disappointed. I need this for storage as well as counter space.

I love this island! Shipping was within 3 days! My mother and I read the instructions and it only took me about 4 hours to assemble. It looks great! Overall a fantastic value.The only problem I have had with this is the drawer - it seems to stick, however my boyfriend is going to replace the drawer slides - he thinks that will do it. Still very pleased and compared to similar islands at chain stores, this one is by far the best.

The packaging wasn't too great. When the item arrived I was missing 6 of the bolts needed for assembly and the finished front of one shelf was a bit damaged. To be fair though, I phoned the company as their paper says to do (we stand behind our product 100%...and they do!). A person answered, asked which part #'s were damaged/missing and had them shipped out via UPS right away. I received the replacement parts within a few days and finished assembling it. Assembly wasn't too bad, but you may want a second person to help out (I did it alone, I'm 35). It looks very nice once assembled. I installed a pot rack above it and it really made my kitchen look good. You have to oil the wood occasionaly (I have to order some of the oil) to help seal/preserve/harden it. If you don't have the $4-5000 a super nice island will cost you, then this is definitly the way to go. Looks rich/classy once assembled and is quite heavy (about 160lbs or so I think). I'd buy one again.

I LIKE THE TABLE TOP. IT IS BY FAR THE MOST COMPLICATED ASSEMBLY THAT I HAVE EVER ATTEMPTED. THERE WERE FAR TO MANY SCREWS THAT WERE ALMOST IDENTICAL IN SIZE (LENGTH, DIAMITER, & THREADS). THERE ARE PARTS THAT ARE REQUIRED ON OTHER MODELS THAT SHOULD NOT BE USED ON THIS MODEL. IT REQUIRED 10 TO 12 HOURS TO ASSEMBLE. A NICE PRODUCT ONCE ASSEMBLED.

I love this I have been looking for a island that I could use to take some clutter off my counter which is exactly what it does this item has alot of space. I looked for a long time before I bought.

Really like item. Was difficult for me to assemble. Some of the screws directed were incorrect. Had to pay someone to assemble item. Looks great and meets my needs.

Mr. said instructions could have been clearer, but we called the 800# and I agree with other reviewers the service is excellent. Mr. took two days but that was because he was into some football! I would have like the site to have stated what height stools would be used with this as I pre bought and they were the wrong size and had to return anyyyy way the size is 25 inches. The wood is heavy an not cheesy particle board. The handles and the hardware was of nice quality. I shopped for a couple of months and overstock beat others in pricing and with the holiday discount I got this one for 7.00 more than the next size down, needless to say I am thrilled. The boxes arrived in great shape and we had all the parts. The color matched ver close to my cabinets and matched the picture on overstock very close. I would reccomend this item. And of course I will be baack shopping Overstock again!

This is an awesome kitchen island. I just wish it doesn't take 4 hours to assemble. Actually it took me 3 days because I have to request for 4 broken parts (during shipment). Catskill Craftsmen has the most responsive customer service people in any industry that I have dealt with. I received the replacement parts within 2 days of informing them. Once assembled, the island is so nice looking. It matches everything in my kitchen (I have natural-stained hardwood flooring in kitchen). The assembly time is so worth it. It's sturdy. It's really nice! I am trying to stain it with Minwax polyurethane. So far so good. I need to do first sanding and 2nd stain coating tomorrow.

After seaching many websites, we decided to purchase this cabinet. The shipping was fast and the product is wonderful! I am 100% satisfied with the island; I just wish that the unit was able to be poly-ed. The company sent detailed care instructions and the unit assembled beautifully!

I have been looking for a center island that had cabinets and drawers. This one is great and looks really nice. The boxes it comes in are extremely heavy and the setup took a lot of time and effort. Overall I am very pleased with how it looks and works, but it is a rather complicated assembly. they could have made the way the parts go together a little better.

At first the instructions for assembling the island seemed a bit overwhelming to my husband and me. But taking it one step at a time, as suggested, we were amazed at how easily everything went together. We found that the brackets to hold up the drop leaf were bent so we called the company. In only two days time the replacement parts arrived and we were able to complete the island. It is a handsome piece of furniture and will increase the storage and work area of our kitchen..

The Super Island Plus arrived within 3 days of placing the order. I'm happy and pleased to say none of the pieces were missing or damaged. It was very simple to assemble - and I assembled it by myself, although the instructions state that two people should assemble. This is a beautiful island with lots of storage and the butcher block is very study. I am very pleased and this is my first piece of furniture purchased from overstock.com.

I am quite pleased with the Super Island Plus. Though it took several hours to put together, it was well worth the effort. I badly needed more storage and a bigger work area in my kitchen, and this island has met all of my needs. I highly recommend this item. Just know that it takes several hours to assemble it. Lay all the pieces out on the floor and take your time putting it together. You will need some assistance. I think the only disappointing thing about the island was that the drawer was very shallow. But I can live with that, cause I now have extra storage and a very large work area.

The island is beautiful, I love it. It was VERY difficult to assemble.

Looks very nice. Assembly was pretty easy - all parts were provided and it moved along once you got started. It's very heavy and substantial and a nice size - we were in desperate need of more counter space. I would buy again.
