Although it's a little firmer than I expected, it's too heavy to ship back. Also it was supposed to be 6" and never did fully expand to that thickness at the top or bottom of the mattress. For the price I supposed it was a good value. I got it to put on top of a too firm mattress right before my husband had back surgery.Read More
It is a ten million percent upgrade from my old mattress. It is firmer than I thought it would be. Need a nice fluffy topper. But for the money, it is worth it.Read More
I received the mattress and immediately unwrapped it and place it on the platform bed. After 96 hours adn in a room heated to 77 degrees, it was still only 4" thick, not 6. I contacted Overstock. I was asked for pictures, which I sent right away. Overstock informed me I would be getting another mattress in a few days. Overstock rocks. Or maybe not, The second one also expanded to 4" and no more. I gave up. The thrift store was happy to get them. I needed a viable mattress for family arriving soon, so bought one elsewhere. If you want a 4" mattress, I think it is a nice one, but not thick enough for us. Overstock tried to make things right, it is just a poor product.Read More
This mattress if really comfortable, I love it. It's thin, but you wouldn't know when you're sleeping on it. Sheets fit on it well even though it's thin. I like mattresses on the firm side, I don't think this mattress is particularly firm though. Shipped in the listed time-frame. Arrived when expected. It takes two people to pull the mattress out of the bag... but otherwise it's easy to unravel. Light and east to carry.Read More
Just writing a review so u guys know what ur getting into. Of ur looking for plush or soft or memory foam that u sink into. This is NOT the one. A little less than six inches and very very firm. I got a mattress pad and just purchased a pillow top to see if I can add some softness to this bed. If u like I'm I say get it, but it's ur not looking to sleep on what feels like the floor, I'd say pass on this one.Read More
Even though the mattress seems closer to 5 inches than six, I am sleeping better than I have in a very long time. I wake up in pretty much the same position I went to sleep in and my back and legs feel much better when I wake up than they used to. I am a very large person and so far there doesn't seem to be any "dipping" in the middle - so far I am satisfied with my new mattress.Read More
we got this mattress for a platform bed. it took a couple of days for it to completely puff up. after it did it was very comfortable. We had a problem with the mattress being too hot when we sleep. We solved this by putting a cotton comforter and then a mattress pad on top and it cooled the mattress off when you sleep.Read More
Comfortable mattress. A bit hard. Easy to unfold.Read More
It's not thick enough and looks like something you'd put above another mattress. I ordered for the holidays it did the work but I wish they displayed just the way it is minus the box spring or whatever they use to elevate it. I would gave return it but I was desperate since I had family coming over. I'd recommend only if you plan to use above another mattress.Read More
I purchased this mattress for a queen sized platform bed. I placed the mattress on top of the old mattress as it was in good condition and I like the height. There was an odor which did disappear within a few days. The mattress is comfortable. This is the sixth or seventh memory foam mattress that I have purchased from Overstock. We have purchased these for our children and grandchildren. My family says these are the most comfortable mattresses they have slept on and I agree. I have the fourteen inch one on my bed, a ten inch and now a six inch on our guest beds. Friends and family sleep well at our house! I really appreciate the way these mattresses are packaged and shipped. They come packed in a compressed form which is easy to carry up and around our curved staircase. Much easier to handle then a conventional mattress and box spring. Our orders have generally arrived earlier then expected. Another quality product at an excellent price. I am very satisfied and will continue to recommend OS to friends and family.Read More

There are basically three common types of mattresses used today: spring mattresses, memory foam mattresses, inflatable mattresses and feather beds. Each type has its own benefits. A mattress pad is a less expensive way to add comfort to your bed than purchasing a whole new mattress. With that said, if your mattress is lumpy or saggy, a mattress topper probably won't make much difference. If it is good, though, you have many different choices in material, price, and comfort. Whatever you get, just make sure you purchase the right size for your bed frame. Take a look below to learn more about the best-selling mattresses on the market.
Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

How to Clean Memory Foam Mattresses
A soft and comfortable memory foam mattress is a treat to sleep on -- until a drink is spilled on it or a pet has an accident on it. While it may seem impossible to clean, you don't have to be intimidated. Memory foam mattresses are actually easy to clean, and you'll have positive results if you follow the instructions. All you need are a few household products and some time for cleaning it thoroughly.
FAQs about Box Spring Mattresses
Box spring mattresses have been used for decades and are both extremely comfortable and very durable. While new advances in bedding, such as memory foam and adjustable models, require no box spring, the durability of a box spring mattress is beyond compare. Box spring mattresses can last for years and are among the least expensive bedding options around. Look below to learn answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about box spring mattresses.
Air Mattresses vs Memory Foam Mattresses
With so many different types of mattresses available, it can be difficult for buyers to decide which one will best suit their needs. Two of the most popular mattress construction technologies are air-filled cores and memory foam. When comparing these two products, consider price, comfort and durability before making a final selection.
How to Clean a Memory Foam Mattress Topper
When you're deep cleaning your home, you may want to pay special attention to your bed. A memory foam mattress topper can completely transform even the most uncomfortable mattress, but accidents do happen, and an accumulation of dust in even the most comfortable bed can prevent a good night's sleep. If it's time to freshen up your mattress topper, you may be wondering how it's done. Memory foam absorbs water while it is being washed; however, it is possible to wash it efficiently.
Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body.
