I am very impressed with this bed. It is a VERY involved process putting this bed together, however. being a metal bed, I guess I expected it to be made up of a couple larger, welded pieces that just bolt together, but there are actually alot of small pieces and about five different kinds of hardware. Make sure you pay very close attention as you put this bed together, because the directions are not very detailed and if you bolt anything on backwards just when you think you're almost done you'll realize that the side rails don't line up and you'll have to pull the bed halfway apart again to fix it. (my wife and I learned this the hard way) In spite of this setback, the finished product is very sturdy, and has a really nice semi-gloss black finish. The bend only stands around chest-high to me, which is great for my 5 year old son because he feels like he's on a bunk bed, and I don't have to worry about him falling off and breaking his neck. As long as you don't get too thick of a mattress the siderails do a good job of preventing this too. Plus the space underneath makes for a cool "Hide out" for him, and the built-in shelves are actually big enough to be functional for large toys and kid's books. The desk that comes with it is nothing special really, and if you overtighten the screws on the bottom they WILL punch through the particle board top. (which I also did once) not real sturdy, but it works fine as a coloring desk for my son. Overall this is a great product, and i hav'nt seen anything of similar quality for anywhere near the price on Overstock.com. A Great buy!

Wanted a bed with storage underneath but not too high for my son with joint issues. The product arrived quickly. The boxes are heavy and akward so make sure you have help to move them. The bed was very easy to assemble. One drawback was the way the hardware is labeled. When you open the hardware you can no longer see what letter they are so I put them in seperate bags that I had labeled. Pay close attention to the numbers of the pieces. They may look similar but if you don't follow the directions exactly you will run into problems. I also used a small right angle rachet to put it together which made the whole process much easier. My 10 yo son put the desk together himself. The bed can only be put together in the configuration you see in the picture.

I have bought several beds for my son. This bed I bought, he loves it. It is a very nice bed. Not hard to put together at all and he loved helping mel. The price I can't argue with either, the other beds I bought costed more and he hated them. Shipping was earlier than expected. I can't complain about anything. I would buy this bed again. My son sits on it and plays, watches tv, under neath... I have to say awesome bed!

I had been looking for the perfect bed for my 6 year old son's bedroom and finally I found it in this bed. It's a perfect height, perfect colour for his room and it very well constructed. I love the additional storage under the bed (I've put some cube shelving with fabric boxes) and the shelves at the end are useful too. My son has already used the table/desk unit which moves about with ease and stores as shows in the image. I recommend that shoppers do their research because as usual (unfortunately) I found the price to be way better elsewhere (and I'm talking $200 dollars cheaper!).

This is a great bed and is worth far more than the price indicates. Everything is so solid and makes it easy for my son to do his homework. I am very impressed.
