Average product for the price. The positives: 1) Simple to use 2) Holds enough water for the whole team to use all day. The product can be used in the office. 3) Light Weight 4) Flashing LEDs to indicate that the water is not at the desired temperature. The negatives: 1) There is no On/OFF switch. The unit has to be unplugged when leaving for the night or the weekend. 2) The water is not boiling, it goes up to 208 deg F not 212 deg. 3) Having to press the Lock/Unlock button to dispense water each time is annoying. There should be a method to turn off the locking feature. 4) Having to hold down on the DISPENSE button is hard. We should be able to press the dispense button once and then press it again when the desired amount of water is taken, to stop dispensing. 5) There's a mark for the highest level of water but no marking for the low level of water that must be present in the dispenser before it auto shuts off. 6) We also teste dthe unit with almost no water to see if it auto shuts off, but it did not shut off. We had to unplug it.

This is my 3rd SPT Hot Water Dispenser This is my 3rd SPT Hot Water Dispenser that I have purchased in several years. The first one was too small for my needs and I gave it to a friend. The 2nd one has just been fabulous. The one I am purchasing today is for some friends in Minnesota that have a long snowy winters and they loved mine so I am sending this one. I do put filtered or spring bottled water in the reservoir. Be nice to your dispenser and it will be nice to you!

Does what it needs to do It's straight forward. We had an older model that died on us. Steam somehow got into the electronics where the buttons are. So we replaced with this one. One plus on this one is that once you add water you don't have to wait forever for the unlock button to work. The old model took forever to boil.

Hi nfpliskin, in order to dispense hot water you will need to select unlock then dispense. Currently there is not a manual way to dispense water. I hope this helps, thanks for shopping with us.
