We were disappointed for many reasons. (1) When the toast pops-up, it is virtually soundless. If you are not watching-over the toaster when it pops-up. the toast sets there, getting cold. (2) the spring mechanism is so weak it is difficult to tell it it has actually popped-up or not. Combined with the first problem you end-up with a lot of cold toast. (3) The "bagel" setting burned the bagel so bad it was uneatable. (4) only "standard size" commercial bread is completely toasted. Bakery bread, that wider than "standard" either ends-up untoasted on one end, or (if flipped and re-toasted) too dark in the middle. On the plus side, it is attractive and easy to clean, but that is not what bought if for.

This is a good toaster, and a good value, with one glaring exception. The slot is not wide enough for the bread we use, which is standard bread. To fit it in, you need to put it in vertically, which means a section of the bead does not toast.I would not buy this again if I Knew this ahead of time.

I bought this for my son that lives out of state and had it shipped directly to him. He absolutely loves it and says it not only looks great but works great. He eats a lot of english muffins and bagels as well as toast and is very happy how nice and wide the openings are. He also said it looks terrific on his countertop along side his black coffee pot. He is very happy and I am as well because the toaster is not only a well known and trusted name brand but a fantasic value as well.

I sent the toaster to my daughter in college. I chose what looked to be the most compact, affordable model. She hasn't had it long, so I really cannot comment on its durability. The toaster seems to work just fine, the only problem is all the extra plastic used in the construction. It appears that a simple metal toaster was encased in lots of extra plastic to make it look more modern (?) The problem is that the plastic is so excessive, it takes up an unnecessary amount of extra space. The top flares out 2-3 inches on each side. It is silly, and unnecessary to have all this on a simple toaster. The result is it takes up too much room on their tiny counter.

It is fine looking. I had to buy 6 of them for apartments and they will serve their purpose well, but I did try to heat up some pita bread and you can tell the sliding mechanism is pretty low quality. It did randomly burn the corners and puffy pieces of the pita bread, but that could have just been from the lack of form that type of bread keeps. If you just need one to look good and work occasionally I would recommend this. If it is for a hardworking household I would upgrade.

This toaster is better than my last toaster. I do find that the mechanism that holds the toast does not alway catch. It may take 2 or 3 times before the toaster will lock and toast. It does look good.

Recently replaced my all white applianced kitchen and needed a simple black w/ silver matt toaster to compliment the other now all black w/ silver matt appliances. Haven't used it yet but I sure it's durable
after all, the white toaster replaced was a sunbeam and had it for 10 years and it got plenty of use!
