Great arc lamp for the price - looks as good in our space as more expensive versions I have seen in stores. To address some of the other reviews here: 1)The instructions (only a simple diagram) are printed on the end flaps of the inner shipping carton; 2) The length of the arc is adjustable and you need two people to adjust from low to high - one to pull in the slack of the cord from below and one to push the top portion of the arc back from the top, and 3) The shade comes in two pieces so that no matter how high or low the lamp is hanging, you can adjust the shade to be parallel to the floor. Practically every single piece of the lamp is adjustable. We were hesitant about this lamp based on the low price and the reviews, but it looks great, was pretty easy to put together, and puts out a lot of light. LOVE IT!

I am extremely pleased with this lamp (although the first one came in with a broken marble base, the replacement lamp came in very fast). It looks exactly like the other more expensive arc floor lamps. It is definitely worth a 5-star rating and It is easy to assemble too. My living room looks so much more stylish with it and I totally love it! A special thanks to Overstock for the outstanding customer service support all the time!

I bought this lamp a few months ago, and finally got around to putting it together, as it was tough to get the bottom pole screwed into the base easily. But I finally decided to take the plunge, and got it together. It was a piece of cake. Everyone seems to LOVE this lamp. It IS cool, and the arc is adjustable, and can be very wide. I am surprised no one has commented on how you MUST put this together where it is going to be...I did it downstairs, and plan on using it UP stairs, which will be at least a 2-person job, given the arc and the weight of the base. I actually might have to disasemble it... :-( The 2-part shade is fine, although if you are using it over a reading spot, etc., the bulb will be exposed, and shining down on you, with no filter. It could be harsh over a dining room table, no matter what bulb you use. It also has a foot on/off switch on the cord, which makes sense, given the height of the shade, but that to me, is an awkward element, depending on where you put the base. It is plastic, and not heavy, so it might flip over, so you might have to add one more step in turning it on or off. It's funky, and fun. But unless you REALLY want this kind of lamp, despite its great price, you might want to think about something more traditional. That's just my thinkin'.

Just wish I has seen the lamp shade had little holes in it in the picture. I thought it was a solid shade.

I love this lamp. Very mod and alot more expensive looking. I had no problen putting it together myself, no need for the hubby on this one!

Great arc lamp for the buck...I'm an interior designer that loves to catch a deal when I can. I found this nice marble base lamp that really holds its own. Its not cheap and does not lean, the arc is the perfect footage to do over a modern style lower couch.

This lamp is extremely heavy! I didn't realize when I ordered it that the base was marble... Pleasant surprise! The lamp is tall and sleek and seems to be very solid and of top quality. There is some assembly, but didnt take more than a few minutes. The lamp shade piece isn't fully connected so it can move around a bit.. This doesn't bother me however, may be an issue for others. Very happy with purchase!

This is a very expensive lamp, I was looking for an arc lamp like this for a while, they all cost ove $200, so I was happy that overstock had it on sale. Very good quality, looks elegant in my dining room. The base is made from marble and is very heavy, looks great.

This is an affordable and well-made adjustable length arc lamp. (I'm using it in my master bedroom, and wanted a smaller 1 foot arc over the bed & it was perfect.) I agree with all the other reviews. The only con that I have is relatively minor: the lamp post screws into the marble base (which is very heavy & solid), but it does tip a little bit to the side where the lamp arcs. This might be partly due to gravity and weight, but I think the screw-in part could have been better made so that the vertical post stood more straight and screwed into the base a bit more tightly. The tip is slight though, and you can shim the marble base a little to compensate for it. I've had no problems w/ the 2-part lamp shade noted in other reviews, but my arc is very high so there's no fear of dislodging the shade. I highly recommend if you're in the market for this type of lamp.

I had been looking for an arc lamp for quite a while, but most are very pricey. I was very impressed with the size of the lamp, it is much larger than I thought. The lamp is adjustable and can be adjusted to more than 7 ft. high. The base is solid stone and heavy. Overall it is an amazing price for a high quality lamp. It is the perfect accent to my modern living room! I absolutely love it and am considering buying another for my bedroom.

I have been searching for this style of Arc lamp for some time; the prices ranged from ***-***. I decided on this this particular lamp because of the base; the other lamp bases were marble blocks vs. a flat circle. The shade is a little flimsy and would be better if it was one solid peice. Overall its a great lamp and I would recommend it.

great lamp! seriously for $xxx you can't beat it. It looks exactly like far more expensive models. The marbel base is extremely solid and heavy. The shade appears bigger in person. Definitely buy if you are looking for lamps of this style... - to the person who coudlnt figure out how to assemble the two part lamp shade: screw off the ring lock, place the bottom half of the lamp on first (wider part facing down), place the top part with the holes on next, lock into place and it falls into perfect form.

Have had it set up in my living room for 2 weeks now. Seems good quality except for the shade. It's not a solid metal bowl but the sides are actually a wide ring. This doesn't stay in place if the shade is set at an angle.

The lamp came with no instructions, shade came in two pieces and had to be held together with tape so it would not fall on someone's head. No way to pull up the slack on the long cord.

the quality is not good, the way the lamp hangs puts a lot of weight on the base, over time the metal rod has bent and the metal weakened so that it will not stand straight. I have had this lamp for a year now, the has bent twice and I was able to fix it however the third time it bent it didn't have enough tensile strength left to stay upright anymore. It really is a beautiful lamp and I love it I just wish it was of better quality. I would recommend the style of lamp but try a different company.

I've had this lamp for over a year and I'm still impressed by it. This is a knock off of a designer lamp that costs thousands of dollars. Other outlets sell this lamp but this is definitely the cheapest price I've seen it advertised for. The lamp shade is made of a filmsy plastic material that is coated white on the inside (presumably to protect it from the heat of the lightbulb) and resembles stainless steel on the outside. The lamp is easy to assemble, although the marble base is very, very heavy.

Very cool lamp. Other similar lamps much more expensive. Really like this lamp.

It is value for money. It is a huge lamp, so make sure you have a lot of space for it. Also, the shade itself is perforated, so that when you switch it on, shapes will float above on the ceiling. I didn't know about that feature and probably wouldn't have ordered it if I did. I'm not keen on the result.

This lamp is perfect as a corner accent. It is very easy to put together. Thought it would be more difficult from all the reviews but it took about 10 minutes. Exactly what I was looking for in the living room to make the corner come to life. Mid Century style and a great price.
