Perfect "everything" desk.

I bought this desk for a few reasons. I wanted something fairly simple for my bedroom that wouldn't take up too much space. I was moving my computer into my room, and needed something to put it on. But I wanted it to look good and not be bulky. I read the reviews after I saw this one and liked the look. I couldn't be happier. First off...it is bigger than I thought, but in a good way. It fits my monitor, keyboard, printer, speakers, router, a lamp and telephone with ease. And there is still room for my coffee, and paperwork. I can use it for my computerwork and paperwork without a problem. There are 2 small drawers in the front for everything I need at the desk. Before I had an old computer desk that was bulky and had no drawers and things were everywhere, so I am content with this. It is taller than I had thought which is nice because the computer chair fits in nicely. I love the red. It is a nice old fashioned red. Not a bright kid color. It is sturdy. It doesn't rock at all. It is constructed nicely and the drawers flow with ease. As for putting it together..that was the best part! I hate having to put things together because they never line up and always seem flimsy. All I had to do was put the legs on...and they provided the tool to do it! Overall this desk is great. For a student it would be great with lots of room for papers and/or computer. If you're not putting a computer on it...it would be great for kids projects with so much room. For an adult bedroom, just perfect for bills, and computer and whatnot. As for shipping....QUICK! And I could track it all the way. Cost...shipping cost was perfect! Price of desk was very reasonable. Especially since it is so well made. It is a very nice, very sturdy desk that could go in any room and be used for anything becasue it IS so simple. I've got my family shopping at overstock now!

Too bad, this desk looked like it was just right until we opened the box- It was Maroon! We returned it, and asked for free shipping to return since the error was not not ours. Maybe next time...

Great Desk

I expected the darker red based on the reviews so I was pleased with the color. It's a very sturdy, well built desk. Great color and perfect for the space. I was really surprised by how nice it is for the price. Great quality and very easy to put together. One tip though, a ratchet set will make life so much easier when putting it together. It's really easy but the screws are LONG. It would take forever doing it by hand with the little tool provided. Shipped fast and arrived in excellent condition. SUPER HAPPY with this purchase.

As the saying goes...

You do get what you pay for. While this desk looks exactly like its more expensive counterpart, it does not hold up. Delivery was great, and assembly was super easy. However after 3 months of use it has shown major evidence of wear. The laquer chips easily and all of the seams have basically turned white. If you plan to stick it in a corner and use it for decoration...great. Otherwise (i.e. you want to actually use it as a desk) upgrade your purchase for something that will stand the test of time.

Terrible

As noted already, the color of this item is deceptive. It's much more of a maroon color than a "red." I wouldn't even consider it to be a "brick red." It's paler than it appears to. In certain light, it looks purple or even pink. That is bad enough, but the finish is terrible. I've had it for just 2 weeks. I telecommute for work about 3 days a week. I sit at a laptop and occasionally jot notes. There are already 10-12 chips in the finish. The color/veneer is so thin that it's chipping constantly. I can't think of anything I've done to cause 1-2 chips, let alone 10-12. It's really terrible. The overall construction of the desk is fine. It was easy to assemble and seems very sturdy. That makes the poor quality of the finish all the more disappointing. I'd like to recommend it because the size is great and there's enough drawer space for office supplies. But, the finish looks awful already. My advice is to avoid it.

How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Inaccurate. Appears to be true red on website. In actuality it's more of a maroon. In certain light it has elements of purple.

The desk is perfect!

I love the desk. I have been looking for a red/maroon parson's desk for a while, but couldn't find one I liked. I have it in my living/family room and it's perfect for my laptop as well as paying bills, etc. I couldn't be more satisfied!!

little red desk

nice desk for my extra bedroom that i set up as a mini 2nd office and for the kids to use easy to put together--nice having the 2 drawers---enough room for a laptop a printer & more!

Great desk for my sons bedroom. The color is a beautiful red - not too bright- and really livens up a navy blue room. Easy to put together - my son actually did it himself.

Nice but unexpected color

Color was darker than I expected. But with a nice leopard chair and some cool desk accessories I can make it work

How did the color on site compare with the actual product? It is actually darker than I thought. I was looking forward to an apple red but got more of a burgundy, red wine color
