  I needed a cute option for a nightstand/end table for a guest room and didn't want to pay a lot of money. The price was great, it is very cute and easy to put together. The only downfall is that's it's a piece that would fall apart after 3 moves.

  Came in what appeared to be nice, sturdy packaging. It comes preassembled but too much of it was assembled for safe shipping. For example, the adjustable drawer seems to have been put in prior to shipping. However during the shipping process the drawer came loose and all of the "pegs" went missing. After about 30 of searching the box, I found 3 out of the 4 pegs. Not sure why they didn't separate the drawer and put the pegs in a separate bag. The "adjustable feet" we're also installed but when I received it one of the feet stripped the base of the leg and therefore can no longer be screwed back in. So much for it being adjustable. Though the cabinet is heavy it is cheaply made with the Ikea type materials (no metal screws or nails - just pegs of plastic and wood). As such, even with all four legs firmly on the ground, the unit wobbles from side to side if you shake it from the top. In the end, though it looks nice, I probably would not buy it if I could do it again.

  I don't think I have ever received a box that had as many pieces and/or hardware as this desk/bookcase. I opened the instructions and one of the only sentences on the page was that two people are necessary for assembly. I planned on assembling the piece alone because I live alone -- I wish it had said that on the website! All that being said, three evenings later I had the bookcase/desk put together and it works well. All of the drilled holes and the hardware do not match perfectly but they match well enough and any screws that don't go all the way into their place are not visible. The piece is sturdy. I would only recommend this to a friend if I told him/her about the building process, and maybe I would offer an experienced hand as well.

  I purchased this item in part because of the described size. It was listed as being 69 inches tall. There was was even a a question in the Q and A section asking for verification of the size. Overstock's answer was that they checked with the manufacture who confirmed that 69.3 inches was correct. I am thinking that Ameriwood gave the wrong information. I even looked on other sites to verify the size and they all had same info. Sigh. I would not have purchased this item if I knew the size. So buyer beware. I have ordered from overstock in the past and was happy.
