Finally found glass storage bowls with plastic lids that secure well. Just what we were looking for.

I purchased this set for two reasons-I wanted cheap glass storage containers for food and I'm getting what I paid for. The lids are constructed of a hard plastic and might be hard for some people with dexterity problems to open-the lids are not pliable whatsoever. They will work for nicely for me for awhile.

I like this item a lot and will probably buy another set as we use a lot of pasta and storing remaining pasta in the boxes they come in is less than ideal for a household with many children (can't tell you how many times I've swept nearly a whole box of penne or spaghetti off the kitchen floor). Of course they are glass, but I've already dropped one, and it did fine (although our floor is linoleum, nothing hard like tile). They are on the heavier side than what I expected and the glass has more of a ruddy look to it- its a lot like the stuff my friend has from Europe- they're not this pristine super clear glass that looks brand new. That having been said, I've actually grown to appreciate that about this set as it lends kind of an old-world feel to it. All my pieces arrived undamaged and the set was delivered in about two days. A note about the spice shakers- I'm using them because I really love the way they look. However, they're not made quite as well as the canisters and the metal tops for them are a bit on the cheap side. I'm using them for my lesser reached for spices because they're just not as quick to use as the plastic pop-tops. But overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

I have been using plastic recently to store in, however after reading warnings about PBA's I decided I would look for a glass alternative when I came upon this item. I thought I was only going to get one set but after ordering I found it was two. I thought the price was good for the one set but it was outstanding for both sets. They are truly a dishwasher safe, the lids did not warp.

For the most part I really like these dishes. They microwave well, seal up really tight, and match my kitchen beautifully. My only complaint is that after having them 2 weeks or so, one of my lids developed a crack in the plastic along the crease. It's still fine to store stuff in the fridge with, but I wouldn't put anything liquid in it if I were to, say, take it in my lunch. The others are all fine tho, and I have had these for months now. Probably just a fluke. I would buy them again.

needed to get rid of plastic and the 5various sizes x2 gives plenty of options. The lids are also easy to use esp with my arthritis.

These glass jars are great for storing pasta, flour, sugar, and other household ingredients. The variety of sizes is definitely helpful and it keeps your food fresh without the smell/taste of plastic storage containers.

I wanted a nice glass storage set to replace all my plastic storageware, and this was perfect. Didn't want to spend so much, but I feel it was worth it to not have to worry about the plasticware/heating issues with my family. Shipping was super fast, and all arrived intact.

This is a nice set of storage containers. However, one of the jars that I use the most (for rice) is not airtight, the steel top separated from the plastic threaded ring that screws onto the jar. A little glue will solve that problem, but I have to check them regularly to see if the other jars are having the same problem. Takes away from the overall functionality of these very pretty jars. The spice shakers are unique and very useful.

These jars are wonderful for storing food products, especially in areas that have humidity. We have a home right on the ocean, so I store crackers, cereal, etc. in these jars and they last far longer than they do in their original packaging. I also prefer storing items in glass rather than plastic. These have been perfect - very nice quality, secure lids, and they keep everything so neat looking.

I had been looking for something to store my pasta and rice in that could also remain on the counter. I thought I had finally found something stylish and functional in this set. Once received, I just couldn't like it, and I tried. To start, the tops are cheap. When you tap them they sound like plastic, not stainless steel as advertised. There were also little scratches on them, not a good sign for it's long term use. The glass itself is very splotchy. There were air bubbles throughout it, and not in the purposeful way. The seam where the glass was joined is quite obvious as a thick vertical line down the canister. I really wanted to love this set since I had been looking for a while and these seemed like a great deal. But to keep them, I would have had to hide them away in my pantry and position that ugly seam to the wall. If, like some other reviewers, you're just storing crafts or keeping them in a closet then these may work for you. However, if you were looking for a canister set to display in your kitchen then I would keep looking. Luckily, overstock is great with returns.

I received this set in good condition. I love them, and feel better storing food in glass rather than plastic.

The jars are a good size and really great for storing spices and herbs, but assembling the plastic seal, glass lid, and wire bailing is a little tricky. They are also tough to open and close, but I am hoping that that will easy with time and wear.
