the stirchef is very convient but needs to fit larger pans also. Unless you are cooking for one or two people you really don't use a 21/2 qt sauce pan very often
I bought 2 of these. I bake a lot and make desserts. This stirrer IS THE BEST! I use it all the time to melt down chocolate. It leaves my hands free to do other things and not worry about burning! Works great for sauces and even popcorn. GIVE THEM FOR GIFTS!
I purchased this a few years ago and did not have occasion to use it. In the past 6 months I have been making my own French Vanilla IceCream with xylitol and organic milk and eggs. Standing and stirring at the stove for 30 minutes gets old fast. Ta! Da! Remember the automatic stirrer.. I watch the pot and every 5 minutes I use a spoon to check the nooks and crannies. All in all it is really GREAT! I want to get another for our cottage...but cannot find one for sale..Drit! I am hoping they will show up. It works well!
This is ideal for puddings and sauces. If you prefer cooked pudding but don't have time to babysit it so it won't burn, here's your solution. I was told this was the best gift he ever got, ever!!
When I fist saw this I thought it was dumb until I broke my wrist. Now I don't know how I lived without it. You don't have to have a disabiity or arthritis to benefit from it. It does the stirring while you can do other things. Give one a a gift to anyone who loves to cook. I have used it to make sauces and the receipe for lemon curd that comes with is great.
This seemed like a great item when I bought it but it doesn't fit any of my pots except the 2 1/2 quart sauce pan. One of my stock pots is too wide and the other is too tall, so I can't use it for pasta sauce or stew. Also, you can't put a lid on the pot while using the stirrer.
