This bookshelf went together easily and is extremely attractive. I was a bit surprised that it is assembled from top to bottom and found it easier if I put the remaining 3 bottom shelves in and lifted them up as I assembled them to avoid tilting the last shelf to get it in. It is perfect for the office I put it in and is much nicer than the picture. It also holds more than I thought. There is a slight odor to the shelves that dissipates after a day or two.

Nice mix of function and looks. "Industrial" look of framing tempered by the nice polished wood appearance of shelves. Simple albeit repetitive tasks for assembly. Bought two units and second took a fraction of the time to assemble. Integrated levelers a very nice manufactured inclusion. Using one for wine and bar glass storage. No fear of instability. No extra nuts or bolts so do not drop or lose any. Tools supplied work, but rachet and socket make task MUCH easier. Compact sturdy shipping carton. NO DAMAGE.

I wish I could include a picture of what we did with these shelves! I ordered 4 of them and we cut the uprights on one of them to use as a window seat. I now have three shelf units w/six shelves each and three units w/two shelves each. It looks like a totally custom built furniture peice. Everything fit together perfect and the quality and workmanship is the best!

Beautiful...substantial pieces for a modern home. I bought these for my closet but ended up with one of them out in the bedroom as a display shelf.

I bought this bookshelf on the weight of previous reviews, and was not disappointed! This is a very classy piece of furniture and incredibly well built. I must admit that I was a little daunted when I saw the bag of screws, but it went together easily as it was so well machined, ( a cordless drill really helps it go faster), my husband was impressed. I am a potter and this holds and displays my work so well. Very stable with heay objects. A real asset to the gallery. What a find! I would highly recommend it.

I ordered these shelves for my daughter. They are incredible-heavy-duty, hold so much, much nicer than we expected and she put them together by herself. They look great in her cottage.

I was looking for something modern for redecorating my husband's home office. This bookcase (I bought two, plus the TV stand and the coffee table) fit the bill perfectly. They are very heavy, sturdy and masculine, yet really stylish. They take some time to assemble, and it helps to have two people, but the process is not difficult. All pieces arrived well-packed with no damage of any kind.

The picture doesn't do them justice! They are contemporary, rich, stylish pieces. I bought 3 for my walk in closet but decided they looked too nice to be out of view and put them in the den. I reccomend you assemble (which is not difficult) close to where it will be because it is HEAVY after assembly (very sturdy though!) Delivery was within 2 weeks as promised. I've done ALOT of price shopping for shelves/bookcases and you cannot beat this value! I may have to buy more for the closet afterall!

After I put the bookcase together, by the way was a piece of cake; I realized that it did'nt have sides to hold the books in. Now, I have to purchase bookends to hold everything together. The bookcase itself is very nice, true to color. I've got a few compliments on it thus far and have told them to shop at overstock for some great deals.

When I saw these were from La-Z-Boy, I jumped on two of them in a heartbeat. All of the furniture in my family room and living room is from La-Z-Boy so I trusted the name as a quality product. I was not disappointed!! The only slightly confusing matter upon delivery was opening the boxes containing only the shelves; the side rails were shipped in a separate carton. As mentioned, it is very heavy which is reassuring to know they will be able to hold all of my books with no problems. The teenage sons of a friend put them together quite handily and I absolutely love them! They are more contemporary and industrial looking than my other furniture but they'll be so full no one will know!!! Finding the tag stating they were a Tod Oldham design was a very pleasant surprise but the fact remains that they had me at La-Z-Boy!!! These earn five GOLD stars from me!

This a solid piece of furniture, very impressive for the price, especially. It is a little "industrial" looking but that was why we ordered it.

I love this! I bought two bookcases and the matching TV cart. They were easy to put together, even for me. They look even better in person than in the pictures. The satin-finished nickel is sleek and modern, the cherry veneer is gorgeous and pristine, and the style is - well - Todd Oldham! I'd been looking high and low for something modern and industrial, sleek but not cheap-looking, to replace my giantic old solid oak entertainment center. These Todd Oldham pieces are perfect - exactly what I was looking for. And the prices are unreal! Nothing else came close to being what I wanted, and the prices were higher - much higher. This is my first Overstock purchase, and I am highly impressed. These items were well packed, and everything was in perfect condition. Now I need a new flat-screen TV!

I bought this to use in my closet but when I saw how nice it was I decided to put it out where people can see it. The wood is a little darker than the photo - which was just what I wanted. I had a shipping glitch with this at first but after a few calls to customer service everything was handled perfectly.

This was the easiest Item I've ever put together. I'm a woman who is great with tools.It would look fantastic in a industrial loft. LOVE it am looking to buy a couple more for my closet.

The bookcase is beautiful. It is sturdy and surprisingly heavy. The size is great for a small space because it holds a great deal of books. The instructions were a little confusing and it was missing one bolt but it didn't seem to affect the bookcase.
