I purchased this bed because it was very similar to a bed my husband and I liked at a large retail store. I was a bit leary as I have never purchased something of this size online. I was quite impressed when I received my item within 5 days and it took less than an hour to assemble. The bed is looks as nice as in the picture online, it is sturdy and we have received many compliments. It is also quite sturdy and our matress feels much firmer than when we were using the frame that came with the bed originally. I would highly reommend this bed.
A few months ago, I had purchased the Austen bed from Overstock, and was very impressed with the ease of assembly, sturdiness, appearance, and price. I liked it so much that I decided to buy a second one for our guest room. The Austen bed was no longer listed, but the Stanley bed looked so much like it, and was about the same price, that I thought it was made by the same manufacturer and was probably similar in construction. I was wrong! The frame for this Stanley bed is the same quality that mattress stores include as freebies when you purchase a matress and box spring. It shed bits of black paint during assembly, and while it boasts "six leg supports", the two legs of the center bar do not touch the floor! In comparison, the Austen bed had two cross bars and side rails that were attractive enough to be visible. The Austen bed came with all of the tools needed, but this Stanley bed needs a wrench and didn't come with one. The Austen bed was so sturdy that if you tried to shake the footboard, nothing moved. Not so with this imposter! Also, the Austen bed was a matte brownish black color, whereas this Stanley bed is similar but with shiny gold specks on it. In the end, I don't have the energy to disassemble the Stanley bed, and the Austen is not available, so I'm just going to keep it. But I wonder how many other reviewers who gave this a good rating actually thought they were reviewing the Austen bed? Because this is basically junk!
I had to find a new queen size bed that matched my oak dressers. I saw the Stanley bed and IMMEDIATLY fell in love . It is exactly how the picture shows, solid support, easy to assemble and it MATCHES my oak dressers very nicely. Of course I had to get a comforter set from overstock to go with my new bed. LOVE IT!!!
I bought this bed a year ago and forgot to ever write a review. I love it, it's sturdy and very beautiful. My friends have complimented it time and time again. If what you see in the picture is what you want, then you will be very happy with this purchase!
I would have given it 5 stars but the headboard legs do not have matching feet asthe footboard. As a matter of fact, there are no feet on the headboard legs. I found it odd that it did not. Overall, great frame for price.

This bed arrived beautifully wrapped - very well padded - and there was not a nick on any part of the bed. It was easy to assemble and looks beautiful in our guest bedroom. The style of this bed would match any decor and looks way more expensive then it actually was. A great value for a sturdy, well made bed!
Bed arrived in 3 days, WELL wrapped. No, scratches, or bent materials; everything included in 2 boxes. I carried them into the house myself (I am small < 110 lbs) and assembled it with ease. Directions were concise but clear. I'd recommend this bed ... easy to put together, solid and goes well with my antique oak dresser.
Can you please post a photo of the assembled bed without anything (mattress, bedding) on it? It would be nice to see the lines of the bed, etc before buying. Thank you!natashabtv on Feb 16, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for shopping with us natashabtv. We are sorry but presently this is the only picture available. The bed will have finished side rails, two cross bars that attach near the headboard and foot board (horizontally). The queen will also have a bar that attaches to these two bars (vertically) with additional legs for added support of your box spring and mattress. I hope this helps.overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 25, 2014
Hello does this frame adjust in length. My queen is only 80" long and this bed is 86" too much extra room. Please advisekitty59 on Feb 10, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
It does not adjust, my mattress is only 80" as well, but the additional space isn't really all that significant. Leave room for bulky quilts to hang nicely.carols2013 on Feb 25, 2014
Is it possible to get a clear picture of the frame? I'm wondering if the frame has a center beam, and if so, what it looks like. Thanks!pampelmousse on Jan 23, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

Hi! I bought this bed for a family vacation house and LOVE it. Amazing value. Nice, subtle finish. At my home, I have a frame similar to the Durabed frames you carry here, with the headboard and footboard brackets. Would this bed work with that frame rather than the one that comes with it? In other words, will the Stanley head and foot boards attach to the Durabed frame? I want to use it as a platform bed. Thanks in advance.thewaker on Jul 27, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The actual dimensions of the bed frame will vary slightly depending on the style and material it is made of, however with that said, it should work. We recommend that you measure the space between the holes on the headboard and the frame to make sure that they match up. I have had this bed for several years and love it. During a recent move some of the screws, nuts, and bolts were lost. Where can I get some that match the match and are also the right size?
smasma2 on Jul 11, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Unfortunately, we do not sell the packages of nuts and bolts. We recommend that you take what you have available that includes the sizes (length and width) and take it to your local hardware store.

Even though this bed comes with both the headboard and footboard, can it be set up with just the headboard? Or do you have to install the footboard as well in order for it to be "installed correctly"? Thanks.mmhenderson on Apr 12, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello mmhenderson, both the headboard and footboard need to be both installed to ensure the stability of the bed. Thank you for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 19, 2013
YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE FOOTBOARD ATTACHED BECAUSE THIS BED COMES WITH ITS OWN FRAME AND IT ATTACHES TO THE HEAD- AND FOOT-BOARD.jenkins2955 on May 17, 2013

Thank you for your interest in the Stanley Queen-size Bed. The frame is steel.overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 1, 2013
There are hollow parts but the steel is thick.cindy153 on Mar 20, 2013
Thank you for your interest in the Stanley Queen-size Bed and the answer to your question about the construction materials of the frame all of the round or tube shaped stock is hollow to save weight and money but is every bit as strong as the solid versions. We hope that this information is useful to you and thank you again for your business. Have a great day.
overstockcustomercare1 on Mar 20, 2013
All parts are hollow, however they are heavy enough to make a very solid bed.latnlife on Mar 29, 2013
How high is the headboard at the center? I assume the posts are 54 inches, but I want the headboard to fit under a window and wonder about the height at the center.vurbee on Dec 28, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
