Works great - watch out though - this is a small, office sized trash can. I didn't read the description carefully and had intended this to replace my kitchen trash. After being pleased with this one though I ordered its "big brother" for the kitchen ;) Note you'll need 4 D batteries.

Nice trash can, although if you walk by it will open by itself, as well as if you have it even under the smallest counter edge, it will continue to open and close. Be prepared to put it alway from any counter. All this being said the trash can is very good. D batteries required.

It's smaller than I expected, use the smallest trash bag in the market, but takes 4 largest size-D batteries. Very sensitive so can't be put under the sink or anything above it, the lid will keep opening. After second change of the batteries, it stopped working, I decided to give away. It's not worth it.

I purchased the smaller touchless trash can for the bathroom. Its size is just right for the bathroom and the fact that it stays closed until u wave your hand over it is just great. Paper towels are in the guests bathroom so it's very convenient and sanitary for guests to dry their hands not have to touch a trash can top to dispose of the wet towel. Approximately, 6 years ago I purchased the larger version for the kitchen--it is still operating. I just replace the batteries and keep on waving.

Auto trash can is everything advertised and more. Price and fast shipping was a plus also....Would recommend this product and Overstock.com to friends and family..

Luv this Trash Can. It's almost fun to clean! It exceeded my expectations. Quick response and not too sensitive to close movement. Great price also!

I purchased a larger version about 2 years ago and love it. Thought the mechanics of it might eventually be a problem but I have only had to replace the batteries occasionally. I wanted a smaller one for the bathroom. It's great not having to touch the lid. These would make great housewarming gift.

Ideal trash can for our bathroom. Looks great and the infrared open/close works better than we anticipated. No need to touch "anything" each time it's used!!

I bought this trash can for my daughter she just moved in her new house she have 2 children 1yrs & 8mths. I love it because now my 1yr. old grandson can use it with out touching it, all he got to do is wave his little hand over the sensor and it will open the can for him, and me and his mom don't have to worried about he going in and stick his hand in it like a normal infant will do. So my daughter loving it and he learn how to be clean and sanitized...I will buy myself one soon I move in to my new house. I am living in a hotel for now..

I have this trash can in my bathroom and actually like it a bit better than the round versions. It does not seem to be as sensitive to opening when I don't want it to. Size wise, it compares to the capacity of the round one, but it would fit in a narrow area a bit better. I have - count 'em, 9 automatic trash cans of various sizes! Keeps the dog out and they look nice. I only have one of this, but had I received it first, I would have chosen it instead of the 4 round bathroom ones. FYI, the lid is black on this one, not stainless steel, if that matters to you.

These trash cans work just fine - unless you want to put it under the bathroom counter cut out or under a desk or shelf. The sensor thinks there is a hand there and stays open - will NOT close. I bought these to keep the dogs out, and it works next to the desk, but not where I needed it. Only buy this if you won'tl have it under anything - then it works just fine and as advertised. Very quiet and easy to clean.

I have three of these small touchless trash cans.One in each of my bathrooms and one in my bedroom. They are great. I also have the larger sizes in the kitchen and in my office. Very satisfied with product and service that I have gotten from Overstock.

We love the touchless idea and have used a kitchen touchless trash can for years. I was excited to finally find a stainless steel one that would work in the bathroom. The stainless steel looks great and the black plastic lid blends in well. It is the perfect size. The infrared setting is good and it works effortlessly and quietly. A very nice addition to the bathroom. I love having a closed trash can in the room where you would need it most. The lift out inner bucket part is great even if you don't wish to use plastic bags, it would be easy to wash. I will buy additional ones for the other bathrooms, and even bedrooms. I love it and would recommend it to anyone.

This is a great little trash can, it sits easily on most counters, it looks great and best of all with just a wave of your hand it opens without touching it, I bought it for my dad, who has trouble with his hands, caused by nerve damage. He is also, likes to take the trash out each day and place it in the large out door trash can.It looks great and it really is handy when you have your hands full. It is great not to have to touch the trash can except when removing the trash. I bought two at the same time.I recommend this product highly. It is a great idea, during this time of worry about germs, and if you just have a napkin to toss, you don't have to wash your winter chapped hands a dozen or so extra times a day.It takes batteries which seem to last a long time and also has an on and off switch, which is handy when changing the inner bin or if your are going to be away from home for few days. The infrared trash can arrived in perfect condition. After installing the batteries it works great. It is quiet, and the lid opens and closes properly. It is being used in the den, and blends in well.

Attractive and functional. I can't stand those devices with the foot pedal and I don't like open trash, so this was the perfect solution. Kids love it, and it definitely encourages them to clean up because they love using it. Only challenge is positioning it correctly so it doesn't open unintentionally (which happens a lot) but that is something you can work out. We also got one for the bathroom. We feel like the Jetsons.

This trash can is very attactive and solves my problem of the dog getting to the trash and dragging it around the house. It was the perfect solution for our problem.

THIS TRASHCAN WAS JUST PERFECT FOR MY BATHROOM WE HAD A 'STEP ON' TRASH CAN THAT CONSTANTLY WAS BEING 'PUSHED' AROUND THE BATHROOM. THIS WORKS PERFECT IN THAT IT OPENS AS SOON AS YOUR AT THE RIGHT DISTANCE WITHOUT BEING OVERLY SENSITIVE TO MOVEMENT. IT'S THE BEST SIZE FOR A BATHROOM OR A HOME OFFICE.
