Shipping great, product so so
from Springfield, IL,  Aug 19, 2008

The item arrived in quick fashion and was well packed. I always wash any new product I get before using it and do so with this stock pot and strainer/steamer. The first time I used it was to steam some ears of corn. I added a half teaspoon of salt to the water and brought it to a rolling boil then turned the fire off and let the corn steam leaving the lid on until I served the corn. The water continued to sit in the pot while we eat the meal, total prep time and length of meal was at most 1.5 hours. When I went to clear the table and wash the dishes I drained the water and noticed both the stock pot and the strainer had started to rust. This is suppose to be stainless steel. Even using and SOS pad and lots of elbow grease wasn't able to remove the rust stain. I had hoped for better.

stainless?
 from California,  Jan 4, 2008

I sent this product as a gift. The inside of the pot developed rust spots when left to drip dry after washing. How can a stainless pot rust? I'm disappointed with a product that cooks well but leaves lots to be desired in the clean up.

In my opinion
from Columbia, SC,  Dec 31, 2007

The first time I used the Steamer it Discolored as if it was Rusting, both Inside the Pot and the Pasta Basket. Probably from the Salt, which we All use when cooking pasta. Very Lightweight Material on Sidewall and Pot Botom.

disappointed
 from Michigan,  Dec 29, 2007

The main pot was scorched after the first use and could not be cleaned up. After installing the strainer it would only cook a small amount of pasta.

poor product
from portland, OR,  Dec 13, 2007

This product looked great when I got it for a friend. However, the first time he used it, it discolored from the heat. It also rusted the first time he washed it. Needless to say, it went in the garbage. I purchase from overstock and this is the first item I have been displeased with.

This steamer has all the right components, it is neat, has a lid and has removable inserts for a variety of uses, such as pasta and seafood. It is a great steamer and it heats up quickly. It is very economical and I would highly recommend it.

Nice Quality
 from OR,  May 22, 2009

I bought this pot because I was looking for a large steamer. My last one was so thin it would bounce around on the burner when it started to boil. This pan is heavy stainless...looks nice and cleans up great. It's exactly what I was looking for!

We have used this pot several times since purchase. Clad bottom gives even distribution of heat, for a great simmer.

Not Too Bad
from Quincy, MA,  Jan 28, 2009

I bought this pot because of its good size (not too big, not too small) and its steaming capacity. So you are actually getting two pots in one; a regular pot and a steamer. The lid is glass, which in my opinion is a plus with cookware, and has a steam vent in the top. The only two issues I have with this pot is the handles inside the steamer part are a little hard to maneuver (especially if you have pot holders on) and the construction of the pot is on the thin side, so I don't know how long it will last. But overall, it is a good buy for the money.

Stainless Steel Steamer/Spaghetti Cooker

This pot is just the right size, and it cleans up like a dream. The pot is nice and heavy and does a great job in the cooking process. I would highly recommend this to all.

The steamer / strainer basket is great. The pot itself is not of high quality and some foods stick to the bottom.

Good for the price
from Stamford, Connecticut,  Dec 31, 2007

As expected, this is a no frill, inexpensive cooker. It is lightweight and the handle stay cool during cooking. The only thing I don't like is that the pasta insert is not deep enough. There is a 3-4 inches gap between the bottom of the insert and the pot. That means I have to use more water and energy to cook the pasta using the insert than without it.

spaghetti cooker
from Youngstown NY,  Dec 20, 2007

Pot and accessories are very nice. I would have preferred the pot to be taller. As a steamer it will more than fill the bill...but for a pasta cooker, it wouldn't work very well for standard long pasta...but it will be just fine for other types of pasta.

An Awesome Pasta Pot
from Crestwood, KY,  Dec 12, 2007

This pot is just awesome... with its two steamer inserts it really is a great help in my kitchen. I do a lot of cooking for large groups and receptions, etc. It has making cooking pasta a breeze. I can also make large amounts of soup or chili and the pot is strong enough to handle it. I am so glad I found this pot and wish I had had it long ago. This is a great buy.
