just right
 from PA,  Jan 5, 2009

This pot is just right for making 1-2 servings of pasta, or some rice. I bought this for my mother in law becasue it is much easier to just pick the strainer up right at the stove and pour her pasta into a bowl or dish without burning herself or risking the chance of dropping a hot pot of water. The handels are hollow. The lid is glass and very light weight. The pot is not a thick metal pot , it is very thin metal but perfect for steaming and boiling a few servings of veggies or pasta.

small but very user friendly
from New York, NY,  Aug 6, 2008

I am a chef who also loves to cook at home... I love this little steam pot and find it so good for all manner of cooking... pasta for two, homemade soup, big batch of chili, heaps of steamed vegetables and even stove top popcorn. It's small size is also great for storing in my tiny NYC kitchen.

Steam away
from Tucson, AZ,  Mar 23, 2008

This is the perfect size for steaming vegetables for 2-4 people and that is what I was looking for in this product. The steamer is solid in appearance and works well for me. I am quite pleased with my purchase.

A Good and Basic Cooking Pot
from Crestwood, KY,  Dec 12, 2007

I got this pot to have a small 4qt with an insert. I really like the pot and although it is thinner than I usually cook with it seems to cook well and evenly.. It cleans up easily. I can use it to blanch or steam veggies. Without the steamer insert, I have used it for soup and chili. I use this pot about 3 to 4 time a week because of its versatility. And you can not beat the value.

A great pot for cooking soups and stews when you're feeding a small group. The see through cover works well.

So so
from Menomonee Falls, Wi,  Jul 2, 2011

I use this pan for steaming vegetables but I'm not crazy about it. It seems kind of hard to lift out the pan that holds the veggies. It's acceptable, but not "great".

Pasta and Veggies for 2
from Tempe, AZ,  Oct 26, 2009

I've wanted a pasta pot for a while. I was excited to find a pasta pot/steamer at such a low price. The light weight pasta pot/steamer is the perfect size to cook a meal for 2-3 people. This is not a high end pasta pot, but it's perfect for boiling pasta and steaming veggies. The steamer has 2 removeable metal inserts to lift the steamer out of the pot. I was disappointed to find one of the metal inserts for the steamer was broken/irregular. I contacted Overstock customer service and the rep. said a new metal insert will be shipped to me. As soon as it arrives, I will be able to cook up some great pasta and veggie meals with ease.

Perfect for One or Two
from Red Bluff, CA,  Oct 4, 2009

I expected much thinner steel for the price; was I surpised! I've seen the same pot since then for almost twice the price. Not huge but just right for two or side dishes for four.

useful

If you want your vegetables to keep their nutrients and flavor, the best way to go is this steamer. It's big enough to steam many different veggies at the same time. Easy to clean.

Good product
 from California,  Feb 20, 2009

I have a new glass-topped stove. I had to get rid of my old pans, and have had some trouble finding perfectly flat-bottomed substitutes, especially at a reasonable price. This pan is not completely flat, so on glass, it takes a while to heat up on its own. My solution is to start it with boiling water from the teakettle, put in the basket with the vegetables, cover and cook, and it maintains the heat perfectly. This is not an issue with the product. The quality (no rust!) and look of the pan, and the price, are excellent. I just had to make it work for my cooktop, and I am very satisfied.

I was very impressed with the quality of this steamer. It was purchased as a gift, wish I had bought two so I could have one. It's no longer available. I have always been pleased with my purchases! Top quality, quick turnaround as far as ordering vs. shipping!

Pots or Pans
 from Germany,  Oct 14, 2008

The pasta pot was delivered quickly. It looks great and does the job. The one negative comment is that the stainless steal doesn't appear to be very thick. I'm used to 18/8 stainless steel. But I'm hoping for long time use. It's great for just the 2 of us.

4 quart stockpot/steamer
from New York, NY,  Oct 5, 2008

Excellent quality materials and craftsmanship. I would have liked a thicker bottom but that would have doubled the price. The finish is stunningly polished. All I can hope for is it retains it's luster over time.

Great for two people
from Bton IN,  Jul 30, 2008

This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm learning how to steam stuff, so this is great for beginners like myself. I've been using it every few days for the past month, and there's hardly any wear and tear from handwashing and the dishwasher. And I dropped the lid and it didn't break (it bounced!). Great for the price.
