The lid needs battery to operate, which costs quite much when you use this trash can in office, I need to replace the battery almost every other week and it get dents easily because of the thin steel design. Quite expensive for a trash can, plus the quality is not good, kind of cheap actually. The infrared stopped working just after two months. overall, not satisfied with this product.

This worked great for the first week. Then didn't. I changed the batteries. It doesn't open or close on motion. You have to push the button. Disappointed.

I'm very pleased with this purchase. It is convenient and fun. It's easy to remove the trash bag and that is a plus, since a previous purchase of a stainless steel trash can presented great difficulty in removing bags without tearing them and making a mess. I have already recommended this to friends who have seen and commented on this little gem.

I really like not having to touch to open. When scraping a plate or pan this feature is very helpful.I'm still getting used to it opening when I pass by it.

The sheet metal for the can itself is a bit thin. The metal lip at the top of the can tends to prevent liner bags from being easily lifted out. The automatic opening mechanism works fine. But the unit takes 4 large D size batteries. It would be well if it could be plugged into an outlet. Its appearance is just what we had been looking for to match the decor of our newly remodeled kitchen. And the hands-free opening mechanism is very nice. I didn't rate its durability because we don't know that yet having used it only a few weeks now.

The trash can is bigger than it looks in the picture. Doesn't fit any space in our large kitchen. We have to leave it in the garage. The touch free function has no use since we don't use the can often. The trash bag is very hard to get out when full. We've had to fight every single bag. We even tried flex force bags which work better but still tear. The sensor broke after only 6 months however. Since we don't use it often, we are surprised that it broke so soon. Very unhappy.

I have purchased two of these and after less than one year none of them are working. On one can the plastic gear that operates the hinge broke. On another, the plastic lid broke where the hinge attaches. They have agreed to honor their one-year warranty, but only if I pay shipping both ways. That means I will have paid shipping charges two times. Come on! Any trash can should last more than a year no matter what. Two broke with similar problem. I believe this is their design flaw. They should replace them for free. I would not buy this trash can again.

This is a HUGE trash can but only has a small lid opening (only about 9x7 inch). Cannot even put a pizza box in it without folding two times. It is hard to put next to my kitchen counter b/c it is a square shape. It occupies too much space no matter which side is facing out and block the walk way. I have to put it in a far corner away from the kitchen. It gets really inconvenient during cooking time when you have stuffs to tose. The sensor works well but the lid pop-up speed can be faster. Overall, this trash can should not be used in the kitchen, but in the garage if you don't mind the small opening size of the lid.

I love this can. It senses you nearby and opens up automatically. It is large enough for almost a weeks worth of garbage. The only drawback is that the garbage bag catchs on the inside seaming of the stainless steel. Easy fix, simply line the can with 2 garbage liners, and remove the inner bag only. Because you need not touch the can it is very hygenic, and as a registered nurse I appreciate this cleanliness and efficiency. Buy this can, line it with 2 bags, empty only the inner, and don't accidently throw away the bag ring. You will love this can, too.!!

We just love it! This is the 4th time we have had to buy a trash can and they always fall apart at the foot pedal....the Nine Stars Motion Sensor is built to LAST!!!! Just change the batteries when necessary and it will last a long long time. It is very nice looking also. Easy to clean.I would recomend this to my family and friends!

I highly recommend this trashcan. It's a great price and the motion detector is just enough that it's not too sensitive to open but at the same time it's not difficult to get to open when you need it.

I had been looking at these trash cans for quite some time. I finally decided on this one and I have to say I am very pleased with it so far. I've had it about a month. The one thing someone might want to know is if the can is in a high traffic area it will be opening and closing quite often. The sensor is pretty sensitive. The only other thing is the trash bag are a little hard to get out once full. I could be trying to cram to much trash in, so I'm gonna try and not wait so long to empty.Overall, I really like the trash can though and would recommend.

This trash can is very sleek looking, easy to use, opens up only when close to it. Although the picture of the trash can lid looks small, it really isn't. It is wide enough for dirt.I have gooten so many compliments, would reccomend...

I purchased the motion sensor trash can after seeing the one my son bought. It works great and looks great. It holds more trash then the normal trash can. I like the way that the plastic ring holds the trash bag in place. It is easy to remove the trash bad once it is filled. The shipping carton really protected the trash can during shipping. I would recommend this to my friends.

I am very happy with my purchase. I had previously ordered and returned a different brand due to it arriving dented. This trash can came with excellent packaging, and is manufactured with a more durable construction. It looks great in my kitchen. I plan to order another as a gift!

I love my trashcan. Its very convenient when you have your hands full with trash. I haven't had it long enough to judge whether or not the sensor will stop working but so far so good. Also, it holds a lot of trash which is great.

This has been a great purchase! Works very well!! Looks great!!! Just make sure that you have a spot where it won't open every time you walk by it. I bought this for my handicapped father and it works for his needs. Now my mother and sister along with myself want one!!!

I bought my motion sensor trash can about 3 weeks ago and have nothing but good things to say about it. I was concerned when I had read other reviews about how the sensor quits working, so I've kept the box incase I either had to return it, throw it away, or give it to charity. So far the box has been unneeded, of which I am grateful. I have wanted a sensor trash can for a while and bought one at another store, and it turned out to be a disaster! Once the bag was full, it got caught on the pegs on the INSIDE of the trash can, consequently tearing up the bag and just making a big mess and lots of trouble. I knew there had to be something better and I think I've found it! At this point, I am still very happy with my purchase.
