After reading the reviews, I could not believe that people gave the product a poor review for misuse. The product is excellent. It heats evenly and effectively. The user needs to remember to watch the opening and not pour out boiling water or put their hand over the opening where steam comes out. You can't beat this for the price. I used the double boiler for a whole day while heating candy melts and chocolate. worked very well. the shape of the inner bowl also makes it very easy to clean. Hopefully this will hold up with time, but for now, it worked great.

When I received this pot I was unsure that I would be able to fit the contents of a 9" banana cream pie in it. I was surprised to find out that it fit. Stirring was cautious however. The primary concern was pouring the pie contents into the pie without the water pouring into the pie. For melting candy this would be fine, however, a two piece double boiler would have been a better purchase for me. The price makes this very worth the purchase. I know I will use it often during the holidays and special events.

I haven't used this yet but it seems like it is what I expected for what I paid for it. I really only want it to melt almond bark in during Christmas time and I think it will work fine for that. It wouldn't take the place of an actual pyrex double boiler but I didn't want to part with that much money when I will use it so seldom.

I was expecting a larger double boiler, but this will do for most of my needs. Iif I have to work with larger quantities, I will go back to the old way, glass mixing bowl over boiling water in pan.

I admit I was skeptical as I always had the typical two piece double boiler and had just purchased a two piece DB for my daughter but I thought I'd try it , the price was right. I got a wonderful surprise, it works GREAT!!!! Melting chocolate is a breeze . This is truly worth much more and doesn't take up a lot of space in my pot drawer too.

I FOUND THESE DOUBLE BOILERS TO HAVE A MULTIPLE PURPOSE. THEY CAN ALSO BE USED TO WARM UP FOODS 'WITHOUT' STICKING AND AT A FASTER RATE. I CAN ALSO USE THEM FOR 3 MINUTE EGGS (SOFT EGGS) SAFER. AM ENJOYING THE VARIUOS THINGS I CAN USE THEM FOR. GREAT PRODUCT SO SIMPLE TO USE. SHANA W.

I was unsure about the one piece design of this double boiler when I ordered, bur must say after using for one of my favorite sauces, it's great. Priced right, too. Of course, Overstock service and delivery remained more than satisfactory, even during the busy holiday season. Thanks big O..

This is a small pan, but I was able to make lots of dipped chocolate items with it in a single swoop. If you are planning to do a huge amount of work with it you might want a larger size but this is great for a single batch of something. Worked well, cleaned easily both times I used it. Everyone liked my chocolate dipped strawberries. No burning, no mess.

A nice concept as it is all in one pot. The steel is not as thick as I hoped. The price was a bit high for the quality. However, the pot works just great.

Good construction and works well but a little pricey

This little pan works great for melting chocolate. I really like the sealed style and the way to add water directly into the pan. Make sure you do not attempt to pour your cooked ingredients out- the water will come out too. Scoop out your ingredients with a spatula and you are good to go. Works beautifully.

It's perfect for keeping things warm and especially for melting more than one thing for frostings and pies.

I used this to make a single batch of a basic Seven-Minute frosting recipe, and the results were disastrous. The unit is too small, so was unable to beat the frosting long enough or let it reach its peak temperature. While trying to pour the frosting onto the cake, the water poured out of the chamber and onto the cake as well.
