CAUTION HOT!!!!! I bought this slow cooker for my girlfriend because she wanted a big slow cooker and this was the biggest one I could find. The cooker works good for large meals. I feel like it is a low quality product. I don't really know anything about slow cookers, but I'm not an idiot either. There is no warm or serve setting just, low, high and auto. The low setting still cooks to a boil. The outside of the cooker is metal and gets VERY VERY hot. Just touching the outside will burn you. When my girlfriend tried to move it, her hand slipped and touched the side and it gave her a pretty good burn. If you are looking for a big semi-slow cooker this could be the one. I wouldn't leave this unattended especially around children. If i had to do this all over again I would have gone with a better quality 7 or 7.5 quart. quality over quantity.

Used the slow cooker works great is kind of slow to heat even on high I guess it is because it is so big but once it gets to temp it works just fine.

Glad to find a 8,5 slow cooker; the others were never large enough to accomodate our family get togethers. Price was excellent.

This has been a great crockpot for our large family. I was specifically looking for something holding 8 + quarts and this fit the bill perfectly. Other than its wonderfully large capacity I love the Auto setting. Now I no longer have to remember to turn the crockpot on High and then down to Low a few hours later because the Auto setting does it for me. I do wish that the outside of the crockpot did not get so hot to the touch but something I can deal with for the size and inexpensive price of this model.

This is exactly what I was looking for. After searching high and low for a large capacity slow cooker, I purchased this one. My goal was to find one large enough to take an 11 lb. roast to make pulled pork. This handled the job nicely. On high this will boil the liquid, but I was happy to see that there was no burning or sticking on the bottom after 8 hours of cooking. Double batch of chili is next! My 6 quart is too small to handle the recipe doubled! Very happy with my purchase both for price, quality and capability.

We absolutely love our new slow cooker. We have used it several times since it arrived, and it produces excellent meals. We love its large size and shape because of the large meals that we prepare. It has an automatic setting that allows us to put in frozen meats before we leave for work, and they are cooked to perfection when we are ready for dinner 8-10 hours later. The removable pot is not only an excellent serving container, but it is also attractive. We recommend that anyone needing a large slow cooker to purchase this one.

We love the size. We use it to cook about 2-3 times a month and wish we had gotten one earlier. "It is also very nice looking." My wife says. :)

I bought this for my daughter in law who has a large family and often feeds 8-16 people at her home on Sunday after Church. It is big enough to cook two or three nornal roasts or chickens and all the vegetables to go with them. The first of those meals was great and she loved using it. Looks and feels like it will last.

I bought this for a gift for my son & his fiancee, they have stainless steel fridge & other appliances - so it looks nice on the counter, they have used it and just love it! They like that it is a large capacity.

We purchased this slow cooker for our office for chili or hot dog lunches. Since there are 30+ people in our office, we needed a cooker with a larger capacity. This slow cooker held a large pot of chili on a cold day and there was plenty for everyone. It kept the food at a consistent temperature. Anyone looking for a large capacity slow cooker should consider this unit.

We went camping over Thanksgiving and I wanted a crockpot big enough for a turkey breast. We put a 5.15 lb in here and could have bought a bigger one. It did the job perfectly with easy clean up. I also love the oval size so that it doesn't take up a huge amount of counter space. I can't wait for Thanksgiving and camping next year!

I am 100% thrilled with the slow cooker. It is even nicer than described. The only drawback is that if a woman were small, she might have trouble with the weight of the stoneware pot when cleaning it and a large sink is best for washing it.

We've cooked for the family Christmas at our home for years, and I decided this year we would "downsize" our workload with a slow cooker. Found the largest one here at Overstocks (8.5 qt.), and it was perfect for our group of 12. Looked at Recipes.com for a pot roast recipe; it turned out perfectly. The meat "fell apart," and was really tender. There was plenty of space for the meat, potatoes, onions and carrots. Clean-up was easy, too. Filled the liner with soapy water for a few hours, and it washed easily. Already looking for recipes for next Christmas! Highly recommend this item.

This cooker is definitely 5 star.It produces a delicious meal and is easy to clean.

My daughter loved this. She needed a large one, and this is perfect for her. She says it is easy to clean and holds the heat well.

Have used this slow cooker twice now -- one for making chili and once for making a yam casserole-type dish. Had no problem with burning or temperature. The ceramic dish is removable and looks great on the table due to the classy oval shape, although a little heavy (no way around this). The stainless steel casing is light and easy to store.

so far this product works great. delivery was prompt. large size makes it convenient for family gatherings. our only complaint is that the crockpot arrived with a dent on the back. since it didn't affect performance and couldn't be seen when operating in the area where we usually use it, we didn't return it. this is one reason we don't usually shop on line. returning is always more trouble than i care to bother with.
