I had a stainless strainer with one long handle and a short handle years ago and was looking for one at the stores for 2 years or more and finally searched the web for one. Found this at overstock.com and got a package of 2. When I received them and used them I initially felt that they were a bit thin (not as thick of a stainless steel as my old one) but after using it I found that it is featherweight light and it made it easier to handle and didn't have any problems supporting an entire load of pasta without deforming. Its actually a better strainer than I've had before because it's lighter. The small handle on the opposite end is a must so you can support that end on the edge of a sink or hold it with a second hand. The LONG handle is likewise a must so you can hold it with one hand while pouring pasta into it with the other. (I've found that the strainers with two small handles are not as useful as they have to be sitting down to use them. This strainer also has a base to sit it on...another must. The last little detail is that it looks great hanging up next to the gourmet pots and pans...a real showpiece in addition to being functional.

I was looking for a lightweight colander that was on the small side. This set fit the bill. Good size and easy to handle. The steel is very thin, but it was what I was looking for.
