This whistling kettle is a great improvement over the old, heavy, copper kettle that my 82 year old mother used for heating water for her afternoon tea. The new kettle is lightwieght, steamlined, and much easier for her to handle especially because of her arthritic hands. The plug is much easier to pull out in order to pour the hot water than the typical 'trigger' type device used for opening a whistling kettle. Becuase of the whistle, I don't have to worry about her putting the kettle on and forgetting to take it off again so that we can all have tea! I would especially recommend this kettle for older folks who have trouble pulling that trigger handle on a traditional tea kettle. Thanks for helping keep my mama safe. Miz Chill
