Stainless Steel 10-inch Gazing Ball Lighted Fountain

I sent this as a gift and when I had not heard from the recipients, I asked if there was a problem. My engineer niece and pilot nephew were having diffictuly assemblying this product. Apparently it did not come with instructions and they were attempting to contact the manufacturer to get instructions. I was surpized because the picture makes it look like it would be simple to set up.

The ball fill's with water, At the top where the tube exits the ball,there is a gap that alows the ball to fill with water', When full it weights about 8 LB.and the insert that the ball is supported by is not self aligning...the plastic disk is much smaller than the dia. of the tube ? If it were made to fit tighter it would automaticly align the ball....The base plate should be heaver.

I thougth it could be used outdoors, however, the enclosed product brochure notes that outside use voids the warranty. Also, the power cord is too short, in my case I needed an extention cord.
