The safety guard does not hold the veggies well at all; the slicer is non-adjustable and slices too thin; the julien slicer makes mush. I'm sorry I bought it.
This is a good slicer. It does very well on potatos and squash. didn't do as well on harder vegtables like onions. The Julien slicer really is just a shreddar. the product is small so it stores really well. It worked for what i wanted it for but i'm not sure of how many other applications i can use it for.

I have used these slicers twice, once on cabbage and then on onions. They sliced both items , but the slices were not uniform in thickness. The thickness depended on how much pressure the user applied.
Overall not a bad item for the cost.
