Slicer is well crafted with a big advantage over competitors in the same price range. The lock nut for the blade is metal not plastic thereby reducing the possibility of damage when removing the blade for cleaning. No problem getting nice thin slices for salami and copa.

This is a good quality for the money. I use to slice meat for jerky. A little weak for slicing brick cheese. I s a little hard to clean behind the blade and found the part you put the meat against first to have a little too much give allowing for a slight difference in thickness of meat of trying to move fast. I cut frozen meat so I was giving it a workout. Overall I got what I paid for with satisfactory operation about as I had suspected.

This machine slices meat from paper-thin up to a half inch, which is what it is supposed to do. A few notes: --The blade is geared down to a fairly low speed by a gear drive, which is not quiet. I hope this is normal and does not mean the drive is about to tear itself up.-The model advertised is supposed to be a Buffalo Tools brand, but mine says Sportsman -- this, of course, makes no difference as the machine is of Chinese manufacture, probably sold around the world under many different labels. --The manual is totally generic and fairly primitive. --The machine obviously needs to be cleaned after use, including behind the blade. How do you get behind the blade? I quote the manual: REMOVING THE BLADE: Remove the screw clip (right, near the cutting blade) of the blade mount and the blade lock by screwing out the screw clip. Huh? What screw clip? What blade mount? No such thing on mine. Nor does the sketch in the manual, which lists and shows all the parts, mention any screw clip or blade mount. I see no way to remove the blade other than by taking out the three Phillips screws that hold it on. I did this, and its OK, but there is a discrepancy here that bothers me. Bottom line: a decent machine that does a decent job; noisy and not simple to clean. I would recommend it with disclaimers, as noted above.

The Weston 7.5 inch meat slicer is exactly what we expected for a meat slicer at this price. We make home made corned beef and needed something to slice it with and this does the trick. Could it be a little sturdier? Yes. But then we could have gotten a much more expensive model. This does the trick for us. It is easy to adjust the blade depth to our needs and it handles well. It does slide on the counter some when using, so we put it on silicone pot holders and that helps. WE would recommend this product to any one who has light needs for a meat slicer like we do.

I am anemic so I eat ice constantly, I shave plain ice at least twice a day for myself and I love it. This is easy to use and makes fine ice like a Buffalo NY snowfall. I'm sure if you added flavor it would be a perfect sno cone. I just wonder how long the blade will last. Btw one of the screws fell out and I found it in my snow when I was half done, thank God I noticed it, if that would've of been in a snow cone given to a kid that could've been a disaster.

Of course it's brand new but it opens different kinds of cans with ease. No hanging up on the blade as some have. It's tall so cuts large cans as well.

We bought this mainly for slicing raw meat to have hot pot. We have used it twice so far. It gave very thin slices and the meat slices did taste much better than those you buy at frozen session in Asian grocery store. We also tried to use it to slice ham and cooked beef chunk. Very nice results as well. The machine was not heavy at all. Except the blade, most parts are plastic. I do not like the washing (after use) part, but very bearable since we slice meat only once in a while... We did look at some more expensive machines (in the range of 200-300 dollars), but decide to buy this one given the price and frequency of use. We do not regret.

This is probably the most handy and versatile kitchen gadget! A 2 in 1 that not only grinds coffee like the most sophisticated grinder but can also, with only changing the plastic cup and blades, chop onions, garlic and any prepping I need for cooking and salads. It is simply ingenuous! Now I have my chopper always at reach and not taking any space on my counter. I can put both plastic cups and blades in the dishwasher to clean it and wipe the base with a paper towel. In these times of tough economy, you can't beat this deal: A large 3 cup chopper AND a coffee grinder - ALL IN ONE

I got this for use in our church kitchen. It quickly slices tomatoes and onions micro thin. Easy to clean. Of course, the blade is very sharp.

I had read reviews both positive and negative on this slicer here as well as other websites. After reading the multitude of good reviews as well as the overdone bad reviews I came to the conclusion that if the slicer was used for what it was intended to be used for and within its design parameters then it would be a good buy. I received the slicer and have been using it weekly. Easy to clean. Easy to remove blade. My only complaint is that the suction cup feet don't stick easily to the counter. Great slicer. I would recommend. Unless you plan on running a deli.

I wanted an inexpensive slicer to cut meats and cheese and this fit the need. I can cook meats and slice them thin or thick with little or not trouble. I have to let the cheeses warm up a little before slicing or if you try to slice too fast it will cause the belt to slip that is rotating the blade. I have been using this slicer for a couple years now and will continue until it gives out or the blade goes dull. The only thing I would change would be the depth guide that adjust is made of plastic and can change the thickness with too much pressure with certain food being cut.

the metal peice in front of the blade flexes a little so the slices are not all uniform but it slices and gets the job done. It makes a bit of noise not the quitest thing. BUt I've never had a slicer before. It works wonderful and i would get it again.

This is a good slicer for the price. The carriage is made of plastic, so it has a little give when pushing the meat through. I am still able to get some pretty thin slices of meat, vegetables, and fruits for dehydrating. The only minor concern I have is that the blade is secured to the arbor by three self tapping screws which are screwed into plastic. The worry being that since the blade has to be removed constantly for cleaning; the plastic will eventually strip out.

I love this product! It is a great value for your money. The ordering process was simple and my snocone machine arrived on time. You can easily produce snocones for one person or for many . It is so easy to use that my children can make their own snocones. There is no worry about exposed blades as the design of the machine well covers them. Just add ice in the top, close lid and twist lid to turn on. We make snocones at home and also take the machine with us when we go camping for more family fun! Thanks Overstock!
