This South Beach king-sized bed is a great choice for a contemporary-styled bedroom. The king-size bed has five sturdy legs and features a metallic, coffee-colored rectangular grill pattern on the headboard and footboard, giving clean, modern looks....more
I was a bit skeptical about buying a bed online where I couldn't physically see/touch it. After reading all of the reviews I felt confident in making my purchase of this bed. Since the majority of our bed budget went to the mattress I wanted to find something sturdy, atheistically pleasing, and something that wouldn't make an already small room look even smaller - all for a decent price. I purchased the bed in a King and I couldn't be happier. You can't beat the quality for the price. My husband put this together by himself and it took him about an hour and a half. The only reason I am giving the bed 4 stars is that the headboard is a bit wobbly, however the bed does not squeak at all. We are both pleased and do not regret the purchase.
This is a very stylish bed. It has great lines and is well made. The headboard was actually delivered with a ding in it but Overstock was GREAT and quickly replaced it for us.
We have a king bed and boxsprings and they look great on this bed. We also have a bed skirt and it also works with this bed.
I purchased this bed because I loved the design and I couldn't believe how low the price was. It's an unbelievably great deal. The bed arrived in a timely manner and was very easy to put together. The only issue I had was some missing parts, but customer service took care of that immediately for me and the missing parts arrived very quickly. The bed is quite sturdy and looks great. All my friends and family commented on how much they liked it. If you're looking for a great bed at an extremely low price, this is the bed for you.
Great bed and a fantastic price. Plus it only took us about an hour to put it together, very straight forward. Also, we were concerned about needing a bed frame for the bed and you do not. It comes with several supports.
My only minor complaint would be that the headboard is a bit short. We have large pillows and the headboards is the same size of the pillows.
Overall, we would buy again plus it looks great!
We bought two of these beds for a vacation rental and they are terrific. Finding stylish, modern headboards/beds at a reasonable price was quite a challenge. This was the only bed that met our requirements, and we're very happy with it. Relatively easy to put together (with two people), and it seems sturdy.
Received this bed yesterday, with the box all torn up on one corner and a leg of the footboard slightly bent, and the rubber foot having fallen out onto our porch. Opened it up to see that it was not the 'coffee' color reported in the description, but black, which wasn't a dealbreaker for us, but disappointing nevertheless. The bed was easy to assemble, and pretty sturdy, and looks good.
The measurements are also wrong- the footboard is nowhere near 31 inches, which is what was reported on both overstock and the maker's websites. It's closer to 26 or 27 inches, which is really frustrating because the overall height led us to select taller nightstands, so those may have to go back if they are too tall (haven't received them yet, but I am no longer trusting of the measurements reported here, so I'm reserving judgment).
Overall, we like the bed, so we are keeping it, but I am really upset by the way the details were reported in the description here--it makes me very skeptical about purchasing anything else from overstock where those kinds of details matter.
This bed is really a find. I was looking for something to fit with the eclectic pieces I already had for furniture. The bed arrived quickly well packaged in two boxes. It went together in less than 30 minutes with two people and a power drill. The room is fairly small so the open look of the piece really works. The finish was perfect. The bed is really sturdy, no wiggles or squeaks. It looks way more expensive than it was. Buy with confidence. You won't be sorry.

What does the bed have to support the box springs? Is it just resting on the side rails or does it come with a slat system to. Or is there a rail system that runs all the way around the bed. Is there a link that has assembly instructions to?tabasco2 on Oct 24, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

i don't think my question was understood. if i want my mattress to be taller than the footboard (as pictured), how many inches tall do i need my box spring and mattress to be when stacked on top? whether or not i purchase this model depends on whether or not we are going to be kicking a footboard in our sleep. will a 17 inch total height of my box spring and mattress clear the footboard? the previous answer leads me to believe i should be subtracting 7.5" from 31", but i'm not sure that you mean to say i need almost 2 feet of bed height...barbarajgrosso on Jun 13, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I have this in a king size. From the slats to the top of the foot board is 16 1/2".sagrantz on May 19, 2013
The footboard is 23" tall, not 31" tall.sagrantz on May 19, 2013
what does the total height of your box spring and mattress need to be to clear the footboard? (we are tall folk)barbarajgrosso on Jun 10, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The side rail bolts into the headboard/footboard at 5" from floor and top bolt at 9" from floor. Now the end plate that attaches to hdbd/ftbd is wider than the rail itself, so the rail clearance to floor is probably 6"-6 1/2". The foundation/boxspring would then sit on top of rails and slats, so bottom of foundation/boxspring should be around 7"-7 1/2" off floor.overstockcustomercare1 on Jun 12, 2012

Yes, the slats are several inches apart. A box spring is required.sagrantz on May 19, 2013

from the photo, the color looks like a deep chocolate brown, almost black. is that right? i read some of the other notes below and someone from overstock said it's a warm chocolate steel which was a bit confusing.
please clarify. thank you!ya2012 on Apr 13, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
It is a very dark coloration. I see where some say "charcoal" - but that can be misleading, in that some think "charcoal" signifies a grey'ish tone - it's not. It more a dark "coffee" tone.overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 16, 2012
The one I received was described as "charcoal" on the box, but was definitely black--nothing close to coffee, brown, or anything similar to the description, and not nearly as light in color as in the picture.enjennumber9 on Sep 15, 2013
Is the color more of a steel grey or black. I want something that looks like the color of metal, not black. THANKS! on Apr 9, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
If I understand what you're referring to as a split box frame, I think it should be okay for the king bed. I can't speak for the queen, but the king has 4 horizontal metal slats that support two twin box frames quite nicely. The assembly instructions for the queen (included in the packet with our bed) showed four slats as well for that model, so depending on what kind of box frame you have, you may be able to make it work.enjennumber9 on Sep 15, 2013
