do not buy this based on the description, it is a cheap, shiny woven fabric. not linen at all! farthest thing from. i guess this was to be expected given the price. it is a yellow-y cream color, not beige. very dissatisfied.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? more cream colored with yellow hue
Please tell us about the quality of the product. looks cheap, woven "fabric" not linen
How accurate was the on site description of the product? not accurate at all.
OVER ALL, THE BED MAKES A STATEMENT IN A ROOM. LOOKS FANCY. BUT I STRONGLY RECOMMEND REPLACING THE SUPPORTING WOOD AT THE BOTTOM. THE WOOD IT CAME WITH WAS WEAK AND FELT UNSECURED. BUT AS SOON AS I REPLACED IT WITH STRONGER WOOD... PERFECT. I'M GLAD I MADE THAT CHOICE.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? MATCHED JUST FINE
Please tell us about the quality of the product. THE BED LOOKED VERY NICE BUT THE SUPPORT IS NOT THE BEST. SO JUST REPLACE THE SUPPORT WOOD, AND YOU HAVE YOURSELF A GREAT FUNCTIONAL BED.
How accurate was the on site description of the product? WELL, BASED ON THE DESCRIPTION I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A SOLID LINEN. ITS NOT. IT HAS A DELICATE MESH LOOKING FABRIC OVER IT
This bed is as beautiful as pictured. However, what you can't see is reason for consideration. The platfrom for the mattress is a skeleton of Balsa wood slats that slip into plastic holders. However, the slats are just barely long enough and several of them are tempermental enough to 'break free' in the middle of the night causing a lack of mattress support. After about the 20th time of replacing the same slats into their respective slots, I'm over it and considering removing all of them and putting a boxspring on the floor between the rails for the mattress.
I get complimented on it by friends almost every time they see it, and fancy enough that my housemate refers to it as the bed for "an Oligarch's mistress." Soft headboard that is great for reading in bed, but not so plush that it gets warm when you lean against it (as is the case with some softer fabrics). Easy to dust/clean. Putting it together was easy enough, although I found that fitting my underbed storage was a bit of a challenge (the area under the bed had plenty of room, whereas the rails hit just a few inches lower than advertised). I solved that issue by putting the bed on lifts (if you do this, be sure to get 8 total; the internal supports have 4 feet in the center, in addition to the 4 corners of the frame). One issue that I've got though (prior to putting the bed on lifts)- is that the headboard leans inward ever so slightly. I suspect this has something to do with how the holes for the side rails were machined/placement of the joint. However, it is barely noticeable and does not affect the stability/integrity of the bed.
Hi! I just wanted to confirm the height of the headboard with the legs and panels attached as I am seeing mixed answered from the customer care rep in reading the Q&A's. Please advise:
1. Height of the Legs
2. Height of the Headboard alone
3. Height of the headboard once completely assembled with the legs and panels.
Thanks in advance!lnw5002 on Jan 27, 2015Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello lnw5002, I hope your day is going well. The headboard is approximately 35 H x 65 W. There are legs 13.5 and feet 4.5 inches. The foot board does not use the legs, but does use the same feet. The total height is the 53 inches. All the measurements are in inches and approximate. Thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 4, 2015
Hi, could you please give more info on the slats in terms of how many and what kind of slats they are?

There are 13 bed slats and they are made of wood. Please let us know if you have any further questions.overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 3, 2014
These slats fit into plastic slots that mount on the center and side rails. I've had an issue with the slats 'popping out' in the middle of the night.ArchHome07 on Jan 5, 2015
What does the back of the headboard look like? Is it covered with the same fabric at least, or is it all wooden and exposed? I'm trying to determine if the bed will look good freestanding in the middle of a room, with back exposed.sunfall77 on Apr 3, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for shopping with us sunfall77. The back will have a black fabric instead of the tufted material. Have a great day.overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 4, 2014
It is black. you cannot leave it in the middle of the room like you want to. It needs to be against the wall.lb33r on Jul 3, 2014

Can I use a regular matress or does it have to be memory foam. If I can use a regular matress, will the slats support a box spring and a matress - understanding that this will be high off the ground.lilkar on Jul 15, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
You can use a regular mattress on this with a box spring or you can just use your mattress on this also.

I used my mattress box spring and mattress topper. It's a little high but that was part of the appeal to me.candypooh on Sep 26, 2013
Yes, I'm using a regular mattress, no box springs.tigerdahm on Oct 28, 2013
My mattress is very heavy. It is an Iseries Applause queen size. I do have the smaller box spring.lb33r on Jul 3, 2014
Can you advise what the fabric is on the headboard, it says linen but some reviews say it is shiny and plastic? Also, can the slats be removed to use a box spring, is there a lip on the side rails to hold a box spring.janedoe445566 on Jul 3, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for shopping with us janedoe445566. The headboard is a linen material but it is shiny and probably a polyester material. The manufacturer does not recommend that the slats be removed. I hope this helps. The pictures are accurate on site.
Have a great day.overstockcustomercare1 on Jul 9, 2013
It's not a true linen. It does have a sheen. I used my mattress and box spring on top of the slats.candypooh on Sep 26, 2013
Well it is like a tweed texture. It is not beige. It is more cream or off-white in color. I was going to return it because it wasn't beige, but I am happy I kept it.lb33r on Jul 3, 2014

I am trying to determine if the bed will fit up my narrow staircase. Can you tell me if the headboard comes entirely detached from the lower part of the frame and if each of the rails that make up the frame come detached, so that you can carry them up in pieces and assemble in the bedroom. Thanksaeconley on May 27, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hi aeconley, yes this bed will need to be fully assembled. Which will make it much easier for you to move piece by piece. Thanks for your interest, hope this helps! overstockcustomercare1 on May 28, 2013
Yes the headboard is separate and so are side rails and foot. I assembled it in a small bedroom with no problem. Brought pieces in separatelyannabobrien on Jun 5, 2013

I have a TempurPedic bed (which is very heavy). Will the frame support a memory foam mattress and base? The current metal frame I have has an extra support in the center of the base to the floor which I asssume is to accommodate the extra weight.kittycarryall on Jan 9, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
