I am a BIG FAN of Platform Beds, specifically ones made of METAL as I do not feel wooden slats from side rail to side rail are truly strong enough to take the weight of a decent mattress and people on top. I also hate box springs and it is about time they stopped making those annoying huge bulky things that simply kill the trees and serve no purpose in the world of today! The Sonora Platform Bed was HEAVIER than I thought and came in two packages 22lbs and 72lbs. I own another queen size platform bed made of metal all around )shiny silver in color) and with some pine decor strips across the head board and foot board. the queen bed I own is a little lights and has 9 slats of metal across it. PROS OF THIS SONORA: 1) VERY VERY Strong and extremely well designed 2) The mattress rests on what I call a "Chicken Grid" and two long bars and 5 supporting legs 3) ROCK SOLID when built, extremely well designed 4) far more attractive than its competition in my opinion and super smooth finish (like a high end bicycle frame) 5) Great value for money, especially from overstock. Local dealers wanted 2 x the price plus TAX! CONS OF THE SONORA 1) Perhaps overkill with the weight and robustness for a full size bed ( but not a problem for me, I like STRENGTH 2) A little complicated to put together compared to my Queen Size bed made by another manufacturer, but once you understand what to do, it would be very easy to dismantle and put together again if you move home 3) There is space for a 6th leg of support, I think it should be included, as it would sit at the foot of the bed and I sometimes sit at the foot of the bed so I would like that extra supporting leg ALL IN ALL - this bed is perfect in every way, I simply LOVE IT :) I would definitely recommend that you buy this bed - no questions asked. I am very very impressed. THE CONS I talk about are certainly no trouble at all so for me there NO CONS. I mentioned the cons as I am certain some people might find those things I mention, a little annoying. OVER ALL I give this bed a 10 out of 10 for my needs but I think an 8 out of 10 is more appropriate for people that are NEW to platform BEDs PLEASE FEEL ASSURED you NEVER NEED A BOX SPRING with this BED - It is ROCK SOLID. I would recommend a 10" or higher mattress. I am considering buying the "Accu-Gold 13" memory foam RV Mattress from overstock.com but I would rather buy DORMIA or TEMPURPEDIC as all the other cheaper brands are so similar... we will see, if I buy the "13" Memory foam Accu-gold" here, I will certainly supply a review, but I dont like the fact it has to be BUILT at this end, as people on youtube have stated in reviews the zip up cover tears easily and that is a big problem... I want something SOLID, like this WONDERFUL BED :)

This platform bed is really amazing: great support, low profile for a small bedroom. I bought for our guest room that I have had trouble with furnishing. The other pieces are antique, but this frame fits rights in and holds its own without dominating the space. Very comfortable and great price. Simple to put together. Enjoy!

The bed is delivered assembled and in two boxes - one of which is very heavy. The instructions for assembly are very easy to understand and made the assembly quick and easy for one person to accomplish. The finished bed is exactly as I expected and looks great in my guest room. Overall, a positive experience from order to use.

My son assembled the bedframe in about two hours. We purchased a foam mattress at the same time as the frame as well as a comforter and such. In two hours we had a snazzy completed look. A comfortable bed ready to go.

This bed was very easy to put together - and is extremely stable. I bought a comfort dreams select a firmness mattress to go with it. They are perfect for the guest room. I have my 85 year old mother staying with me, and she LOVES it. I love that it's easy for her to get in and out of 'cause it's not so high (like a regular box spring and mattress are)

I was just browsing when I ran into this product and after reading the reviews I felt it was a really good deal and I was not disappointed....Received quickly and put together by myself. I had a wood platform bed for my memory foam mattress but I like this metal much better....feels like more support and very solid support so I'm glad I made the change.....you won't be disppointed!

Gorgeous Bed-Very heavy and well made. Took me (58 year old female) about 45 minutes alone to carry it piece by piece upstairs and then put it together. And that 45 minutes accounted for putting the rails on upside down (Pay attention to what you are doing). It had a few light scratches that can be easily covered up-they were not caused by delivery, because it came extremely well packaged. All in all- I am going to be very happy with this bed!

sturdy bed and looks awesome in my bed room...8 inch memory foam with no box springs looks great on this bed. Make sure bed rails are on correctly. Right rail is as you are facing the bed and not as you are laying on the bed. It matters when mounting the platform to the rails.

Went together very easily. My husband was very pleased. The only small problem was that 1 of the legs was scraped down to the bare metal. I just hit it with some black spray paint because this leg is in the back corner and no one will ever know. That's why I rated the bed good, or else. it would be excellent.

We love this bed! It looks exactly like the photo. The best part about this bed is that it does not require a box spring. It did come with a few minor scratches, but they are not very obvious. Overall, the quality of the bed is great and we are very happy with our purchase.

It only took us 20 minutes to put this thing together and the instructions were super easy to follow. The bed is perfect for our memory foam mattress, with no box spring. It's as sturdy and can be, and does not creak the slightest bit. I also really like the height -- it's comfortable for sitting, but there is still some very usable storage space underneath. It's so much better than the particle board junk you could get for a similar price. This thing will last forever.
