First off, the futon is NOT Made in the USA, even though it is advertised as such. Says "Made in China" right on the flippin' box. What a lie. That bothers me, as I try very hard to purchase American made products when I can. I won't say it was the make-or-break factor when I bought this, but it did come into play during the decision making. That aside, this is a pretty good futon. The finish is nice and the quality seems solid way better than the old metal one I had back in college. We use it in a small 10x12 bedroom/office for a guest bed. I've slept on it a few times and it's fairly comfortable. Although it's a bit noisy when you roll around (the wooden slat frame and the lower frame sometimes make a thump sound). The cover is a nice suede material and the mattress is firm but not overly so. Assembly was easy once you figured out the directions. The drawers are a nice feature, however they do not attach to the futon in any way they just roll beneath the frame. A word of warning, this thing is pretty heavy once put together. If youre not that strong, get someone else to help open and close the bed as it can get away from you. Overall, Id say this is a good futon for the price, and a nice alternative to a sofa bed or day bed.
