Tile somewhat contemporary
 from Texas,  Oct 6, 2012

We used this tile as a border for ou kitchen backsplash by cutting it up and placeing the tiles sisde by side at the counters edge to make a border and then used another tile for the main "feild" of the backsplash. It has a somewhat contemporary/industrial feel. Some of the tiles were not flat and inconsistant, others had ceramic glaze imperfections. Since we were cutting them in sections we just worked around those and left them out of our project, picking the best ones to use. The real problem came when it was time to grout...the grooves in the tiles with lines are very deep and I wondered how I was going to keep the grout out of them and clean it up when grouting to leave the grout between the tiles and out of the grooves. I solved the problem by pain stakeingly caulking the seams with a product that matches the grout. It took a long time and I had to clean up the excess as I went along with q-tips, a teadiuous and time consuming process. When the job was complete I was very happy with the result.
