I bought 3 of these for my granddaughter's new "big girl" room and, WOW!, were we impressed!!! I'm a careful shopper - knew what I wanted to get her, read the reviews, made sure it was OK with her parents, and then ordered them. First, the fabric is amazing - VERY HIGH QUALITY! (I worked in a textile market at one time and know enough about fabrics to speak intelligently on the subject.) The granddaughter's new room is in the front of their home and has windows facing the south and west so I knew they needed something that was going to be insulating and block the sun - these fit the bill perfectly. They look so nice hanging and everyone that has seen them has commented on them in a positive way. I've got to tell you I truly wish there were more colors available because I'm seriously considering buying more for use in my own home!!!
Purchased these black out curtains for front bedroom(2) dormers that had starlight, moonlight, sunlight and street light streaming through them at all hours of the day and night. When I had a house full of guest coming, I ordered and put up this shade and it blocked all light at night and about 90% of East/South sunlight exposure during the day. I would highly recommend these to all night shift workers like myself because after 30 years of sleepless days, I can finally get a good days rest. I purchased the black out curtains and they provide a 90% decrease in room light. I've since put a valance over the window and have to use a room light or flash light during the day to see it's that dark. I am a 30 year night shift veteran.....Buy them!!! Buy them in the darkest color available (Ihave navy blue and black) and get a good night sleep.
I love these Roman Tie-up Shades! The colors are true, material is soft, and looks nice from both inside and out. I had plain white black out shades in my sons room, awful looking, but did the job. These black out all the light, keep the room cool AND look great. They stand up to washing and drying as well! I bought four, 2 in Navy and 2 in Burgundy.
I ordered and got my product quickly! They are great much better than the heavy thermal insulated drapes and the black out shade keeps out sun and heat. I will buy more for other rooms in my home. I am very pleased with this buy!!!
Great blockout drape with a beautiful light blue fabric on inside to look at as well!! My husband works nights & sleeps during daylight hours so a "true blackout" feature was top priority. I'm ordering more asap.
It is a very beautiful and very easy to install curtain. It is also thick enough to help keep warm inside. The only thing is that not very practical to get doing the laces every morning. But I definitely recommend it. The color is perfect just like the picture. I really like it!
I have two large windows in my kitchen, during the winter months, the cold air is relentless and you can see the shades wave from the air. I had tried to insulate using the plastic covering which was a pain to put up and if I needed to open the window for some ventilation when cooking it was not feasible. I rent so I cannot get insulated windows. I figured I would try to find a window treatment that would be heavy enough to insultate and I believe this product does the trick. I put them up, they really do block out the light but the past few nights have been chilly and they seem to help. They are large enough to cover the edges of the window to keep out the light and the cold. I can't wait to see how they do when it really is deep into the winter season and snow hits. I have no doubt given the heaviness of the material, colors are fibrant.
The curtains are thick and look expensive. They really do block a lot of the light/sounds. I ordered them on a Sunday afternoon and they were here by Wednesday.. and that was with the standard, free shipping! I ordered the wheat color and the only problem I have with them is that they look more yellow on the color swabs, but I can deal with it. I really wanted the red but they were $$$ more so I settled hoping they would be more yellow, oh well! I still love them and even as a light color they work really well!
Hi micksgammie, the rod pocket is approximately 3 inches. The 3 inch continental rod would work, but the curtain will fit tightly on the rod. Thanks for shopping with us! Sherri R.overstockcustomercare2 on Oct 6, 2014

My window is only 37 inches wide and 47 inches long. Can I can tie up the shade to fit the window length? And is the width of the window too narrow for this shade? Thank you.ecl12 on Aug 27, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I did that because my window is kind of small. It looks fine.azarr on Aug 29, 2014
Hello francek21, these would fit on a 2 3/4" rectangular curtain rod. Thanks for shopping with us! Amandaoverstockcustomercare2 on Aug 13, 2014
Hello, what does the back of the fabric look like? Is it white? Is the whole thing made of polyester? Is the fabric soft? I bought some black out panels before, and they were hard and "crunchy". What makes them a black out shade? Is the fabric thick? I just don't want to waste any more money on curtains that don't block out the sun or that the fabric is hard. Thank you.shopchicknyc on Jun 17, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The fabric is not hard, it's pretty soft. I haven't put up the tie-up shade ones, because I decided the windows I bought it for don't need it, but I do have the larger curtains for my big windows and I love them. The back is not white, it's the same color material throughout. I don't know how, but it is good at blocking out the light. I'd recommend them.melrose10 on Jun 25, 2014
The curtain is not lined so it is the same color throughout. The fabric is very soft and hangs great. The curtain does a great job of blocking light.gigistroud on Jul 13, 2014
The back is the same color as the front. I didn't keep the tie-up shades as they were a little "skimpy" for my windows. I ordered the grommet top drapes in the same color for a bigger window. I'm going to order more of the grommet top for my other windows -- a bit more fabric than I need but better than not enough.rjdfowler on Jul 25, 2014
Most definitely. They have very large rod pocketslordjeffery on Jun 17, 2014
Yes. I used that rod for mine.gigistroud on Jul 13, 2014
Hi! I am considering these and I need to match them to what I would call "bright midnight blue." The navy looks a bit too dark, so I am trying to figure out if the royal blue is too light/bright, like a primary blue, or if it's a little darker. This may be a stupid question but I would like two of these curtains to hang side by side on the same rod to cover a wide window. Is there any reason that would not work? Thanks!grayinrockwall on Dec 29, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for your question grayinrockwall. No, there is no reason it would not work. You can adjust the rod and move the shades side by side. Have a great day.overstockcustomercare1 on Dec 31, 2013
I have purchased 2 and have them hanging side-by-side. There are so many selections for curtain rods to use with these shades.lovemyshoeshopping on Jan 1, 2014
That is what I had to do for a larger window. The only thing is at the top where there is a bracket to support the rod in the middle there is a very small gap but it doesn't look bad.overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 15, 2014
Is this shade adjustable at the top? I would like to hang two side by side on the same rod but the window is smaller than the total measurements of the shade.jives29 on Dec 27, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

I have 2 windows that together measure 61 wide x 63 long. I would like one curtain to cover both of these windows together, as sunlight comes through these windows and reflects onto the flat screen television.
Can you please point me to a curtain that would cover both of these windows together, and be a dark chocolate color? This curtain looks very nice, but it's not wide enough. The red looks like a rich color, so I think I could live with the color, but it has to be wider than these curtains.
In looking at other room darkening curtains that you have, I'm not able to figure out how wide one curtain is. I think I want one WIDE curtain, as opposed to buying 2 separate panels because I would be afraid that light would come through the opening in the 2 panels, and my problem of light reflecting off the television would not be solved.zola90210 on Dec 23, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

This shade would be for my child's nursery. The colors of the room are a teal and pink. Therefore, I'm having a hard time deciding if the sky blue or turquoise is closer to the colors we already have. Can you advise either way? From the pic, it looks like the sky blue would match better but, I don't want to get it and it be too blue versus teal and realize that we should've gone with the turquoise. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!aprrob on Jan 23, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The turquoise is currently available, but we do have the sky blue. According to the reviews, the colors that have been ordered are accurate to the site. Hopefully, the sky blue works for you. overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 24, 2013
I have a double window that measures 72". Is there a possibliity that I could get one of the tie up curtains for 72 or little larger. I suppose I could buy two of the 63" and sew them together but not sewing the pocket for the rod. What do you think? Thankssouthernld on Jul 19, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
