Solid Insulated 63-inch Blackout Tie Up Shade

I use to have black velvet black out curtains up but they made the room look too dingy for my liking. I then bought some beautiful curtains that are made from a material that is almost like fishnet. I didn't think much of the light coming through since we had mini-blinds up as well. While our bedroom windows face East but we don't get much natural light in any areas of our home because our street is lined with many trees. After about 2 days of the new curtains up my husband was not amused by the light coming in. I thought it might look cool to put red curtains behind the black mesh curtains or to sew red material on to the back of the black curtains. While researching inexpensive red black out curtains so I could sew them to the backs of our mesh black curtains I came across these. They were priced a bit higher than I wanted to pay but once I read the reviews I decided to go for it. I'm so glad that I did. I chose red and they were a true blue-based red. Many times I order something that is supposedly blue based red only to receive orange based red which I don't like. These curtains looked even higher quality in person than they do in the photographs. I decided to throw away the ages old mini-blinds which mean these shades needed to block out a lot more light. These do that and then some. They look so nice. If you are a lazy person who doesn't want to have to fuss with hand rolling the shade up to tie it up these might not be for you but if you don't mind having to spend a few minutes doing that then you should give these a try. We don't put these up too often since they are in our bedroom but we love them so much we are considering replacing all the mini-blinds in the living room with these. The only thing I didn't like wasn't the fault of O.com or the maker of these shades and that is that we live in a Victorian aged home so our windows are larger than modern day windows. So even with the shades stretched to their full width there is about a 2 centimeter sliver at both ends. Since the shades block so much light those two slivers are like looking into the burning eye of Sauron.
