These curtains are exactly what I was looking for. The royal blue is a rich color, a little brighter than monitor color could convey, but very close to what I expected. The fabric is soft and folds up easily with the ties. I was originally looking at solar blinds to block light and heat in an upstairs bedroom. These curtains were inexpensive and add more character and style to the room.

I ordered 2 in sky blue (very delicate colour, works well with yellow walls for us) for my girls' bedroom with the warm weather light streaming in on weekends, it's effective way of getting them sleep in a little longer; ordered brown for the master bedroom to create a cozier look for an otherwise oversized room, and found the brown was better at blocking out the light than the lighter colours, got one for our changing room off of the master bedroom and as it's a small space, put up a beige one (again light is filtered, but not totally blocked); point to remember: get the darkest colors for most light blockage if that's what you want; for rods, I bought the cheap barely $2 from the local hardware store, as they wrap around the window rather than a standard decorative rod, as it helps block out the light better, and works better with our heavy wood trim our old house. My mother-in-law also likes them and plans on taking measurements back in the UK and ordering some for her bedroom!

Another Overstock hit with me! Unique. Surprisingly hold their shape despite begging tied up all day and untied at night. Wrinkle free. Sky blue black out effect is 100%. Thrilled. My new home is showcase thank to overstock!

I was surprised at the excellent quality. It blocks every bit of light, enabling us to see the tv in the daytime, then ties up, making a nice looking shade.

These are attractive and a good choice when your window will not accommodate long panels. My son chose black becasue he is a boy ad they were for his room, I would have preferred a lighter color. The blackout feature works well but if you want to go back and forth between tied up shades and blackout you will need to untie and retie them, which takes a minute or two. However he is away at school most of the time so I will leave them up when he is gone and down when he is home.

Overall, these are great curtains that really do a good job of blocking light. However, they are not 42 inches wide, more like 37 inches. Also, when reading the description of these, in one spot it says length is 63 inches and in another spot they say 60 inches. They are 60 inches in length. so they are a little short when down and do let some light in at the bottom. I had to put two on one window because they weren't the width that was stated. When you tie them up they look really nice in the room.

I am going to buy another as soon as I save the money. I had a very hard time finding a black-out curtain that lifted from the bottom. That´s how my window opens and I need the air to get in. I'm sorry the curtain rod ordered didn't work out as it would have created an elegant look. But I am going to buy another curtain exactly like this one.

The blinds are extremely soft and actually hang very nicely. I've had blackout curtains before and they were a little stiff and didn't hang nice. These hang nice, they look awesome and I was surprised at how much light they do block out. I am planning on getting the same for the rest of the bedrooms. Love them!

My two year old was unable to get down for a nap because of how bright her room was, she would keep getting out of her bed and playing with toys instead of going to sleep. I'd heard of black out curtains and decided to give them a try. These curtains are wonderful, her room is completely dark during the brightest part of the day. They are soft, good quality, not heavy at all. Definitely worth spending the extra money. She even sleeps in later in the morning now! Miracle curtains.

I was a little hesitant about ordering these curtains for my 12 year olds room but I must say they were a pleasant surprise. The material is nice and has a slight sheen to it. They are thick enough to block the light when she wants and easy to tie up and let down.

I am disappointed with these curtains.... I was expecting something more "refined" and light weight... they do a great job with keeping the light out. However the curtains are bulky and its quite a task trying to tie them up and also look nice. I will keep them because they are affordable and look OK

I am very happy with this shade. I looked in stores and could only find it at Target but it looked really cheap. This shade is beautifully made and although it costs more then Target it is really worth it in my opinion. I would definitly recommend this shade to anyone who is looking for this style. The delivery was very fast and it was free and I ordered it just before Christmas. I wasn't expecting it to come that quickly so I was pleasantly surprised.
