If you never need to wash them they are fine but to have them look half way decent, they must be professionally laundered. I spent hours trying to iron them only to have them took terrible. I would never buy these again. The napkins are only a little better.
I purchased 144 of these placemats for outdoor use on a deck. They are definately not made for commercial use. I was looking for a much thicker placemat, a heavy cotton weave mat. These must be ironed after each washing as they are very wrinkled right out of the dryer and shrink by 2+ inches all around on the first wash. Might be good for home use but know they are very light and will blow off the table in an outdoor wind.
I bought thses placemats to use at my kitchen table, since it's wood we pretty much leave placemats on it all the time, I found these to be a good weight but they do not wash well at all !!!! I don't know how other people say that they do. I agree with the person that said they shrunk, because they do, and it came out of the washer in a complete ball !!! I tried drying them flat as recomended and also in the dryer, both times they dried all wrinkled and had to be pressed, all that work for a placemat ?? I have better ones that wash & dry beautiful with no extra effort.
