    Great for a backyard nook!

These lights are a fantastic addition to any backyard area that needs just a little more light. I have a set in the dog run so when I take the dogs out at night I don't have to wake the whole neighborhood up by turning on the backyard light at 3:00am (both of my 4footers favorite time to take their nighttime constitution)!

The only downside of this purchase was 6 of the 12 lights I purchased the batteries were dead. Not as bright as I would like.

I was excited to see this product I purchased four in all thinking they would be perfect for our redwood deck - they appeared so classic on the web page photo, and I have been looking for exactly this style a light - "low light, classy, solar, supposedly easly to install, but when I opened the box, 1. they were not the "red wood" color, they were flat black - but I thought - "I'm ok with that", 2. Then I noticed they provided "special" screws and only one set per light - again, I thought, "ok, I can always find another screw IF I loose one of these, 3. I actually did loose one package of the two screws and I am having a dickens of a time finding a screw to replace the ones they provided. 4. when I went to mount them on our deck wooden stairs, they don't sit flush. I had them "level" but they "tilted downward", which dimishes the amount of lighted area. 5. Since they "tilt" they are not seated firmly in place, and any light touch causes the frosted half globe to fall off. 6....

After 3 days, two of the lights quit glowing and I had to buy replacement batteries at $XX.XX. I found a better, brighter set at ******** for $XX.XX. They are GE brand and work fantastic. Two more quit after a week and a half. Disappointed in Overstock quality and pricing.

  • One still working after a year.

I knew going in they were probably cheap low quality lights. I was right. All had water ingress and damage, and only one works a year later. One by one they went out. The light is weak to begin with, also. Stick to wired low voltage whenever possible, and if you need a solar unit be sure to spend what it takes to get enough light and longevity.
