    Where's the steel??

    Mar 28, 2014

froggluvre  from Burr Oak, MI, Rating:3.0

In the description it says that it is made of steel, where's the steel? The handle is plastic, then it goes to wood, then the "shovel" is a hardened plastic, not steel. I read the detail and thought that I was getting a steel shovel, not plastic. I am sure that it will work fine, but it should have been cheaper and not misleading.

  • Aluminum snow shovel

    Feb 19, 2013

    vtgina1  from Vermont, Vermont, Rating:4.0

I have an old aluminum shovel with a long handle that suits me very well after snow storms. The smaller head and lighter material means that I don't attempt to lift large amounts of snow (I am a 5'4" woman in her 50s). The long handle means I don't have to bend over. I could not find a similar shovel at any local stores. On the Internet these shovels were priced similarly to others and if I bought two I was able to take advantage of the free shipping. I left one at my folk's house and gave the other to my daughters. Now there will always be an nice light tool to use at whichever house I happen to be. These shovels don't have the slightly flared shape that mine does but I was willing to try them anyway as I didn't see any others that do.

    • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Close enough.
    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. I haven't used it enough to judge the durability. We'll need a few more snow storms and a couple more winters. i would hope it would last a number of years...
    • How accurate was the on site description of the product? Pretty much what I expected
