Snow Removal

Keeping the walkway clear is what snow removal means to a lot of people, and it's an important part of the overall process. Yard care is an essential activity year-round, and just because it's cold outside doesn't mean you're off the hook. Consistent snow removal from walkways, pathways, sidewalks and driveways will ensure safer travels to and from your home, car and business and make long-term maintenance more manageable.
For small areas, you might consider using a snow shovel. Snow shovels allow precise control over where you're taking snow from and where you're delivering it. If you have delicate borders around your flower beds or decorative accents pieces at the edge of your yard, then removing snow manually with a snow shovel can help you protect them. Using a snow shovel offers the added advantage of building a workout into your chores; shovel a full driveway full of snow and you're sure to break a sweat.
If the area you need to clear is larger than you can manage manually, it's time to explore mechanical help. The snow blower is a modern innovation that has cut down on the time it takes to complete your snow removal tasks. Available in both electric and gas-powered models, snow blowers are designed to quickly move large quantities from one location to another. What snow blowers lack in snow removal precision they more than make up for with capacity. Snow blowers are generally snow removal tools you push along the ground. They use blades to draw snow in and blow the snow through a tube to a location above and to the side of their forward-moving path. If your walls of snow are too high, you may face challenges in forcing snow to fly high enough to clear the embankment; but for general use, snow blowers are hard to beat.
For those truly dedicated to snow removal, there are liquid ice melt products. Designed to be sprayed on the ground before or after storms, these products work by creating a nonstick surface and preventing snow from sticking in the first place -- making snow removal a relatively easy task.
Whatever your preferred method for snow removal, you know you'll find the tools you need for less at Shop for snow removal items and know you're ready for whatever weather comes your way this winter.

We have never had a snow blower before and have lived in the upper midwest most of our lives. We didn't want something bulky and didn't want to have to keep buying and storing gasoline for a traditional blower. We live in town on a corner lot with sidewalks and a cement pad in back of our garage. This blower did an excellent job of clearing the snow. The first time I used it I was amazed. In less than ten minutes I had made two passes to clear the width of the sidewalk. My husband did the garage pad and the area that the snowplow had piled up chunks of snow. The blower did a great job. Then my husband tried it on packed snow after the wind had blown and traffic had tramped the snow down. It did a good job on that too. It is not very wide, but that's okay - I'd rather do two passes than fight with a large bulky machine. It is light and is perfect for in-town use. We haven't tried it on a wet heavy snow yet, but I think if can do the walks before the snow gets too deep, we'll be fine. I ...
