Slumber Solutions Gel Memory Foam 11-inch Queen-size Mattress

We are very pleased with this bed. My husband and I are a healthy average weight and were looking for a mattress that would help alleviate back and joint pain. I understood memory foam to be a good choice for this purpose after doing some internet research. I read many reviews on Overstock and originally had my eye on one of the thicker Hotel Grande memory foam mattress'. The one downside, according to a couple of the reviews, that concerned me was customers getting too heated while sleeping with the Hotel Grande. I came upon the SS gel memory foam 11 inch queen and read that the 'gel memory foam' was suppose to prevent people from getting too hot. I looked at the makeup of this bed and thought the thickness and different layers of foam would suit us nicely. My only concern was that the bed might be too hard based on another review. I received the bed within the promised time frame and as soon as I unwrapped it, it expanded to its correct shape immediately with little smell (another concern by some memory foam customers). My first time laying on this memory foam felt like what I imagined to be laying on a marshmellow, in a delightfully suspended way. I couldn't wait to sleep on it a couple of times before leaving a review. My purchase was mainly based on others' reviews and I wanted to leave feedback to help those who make decisions from reviews as well. This bed was not too hard or too soft, but just right. Neither of us felt too heated; however, we are in the middle of our winter season. I slept through the night without waking from body aches for the first time in a long while. The memory foam takes a little adjusting to as we have only experienced box spring mattress': it just feels noticeably very different (of course, we also downgraded from a king to a queen). We are overall, very happy with this purchase; I can't imagine that I would have found this quality of bed at such a fantastic price anywhere else.

We decided to by this one becouse we tried the one's at the better store's and decided to pay a quarter of the price with overstock. I recomend this mattress to everyone. We both sleep better and no ack's in the morning. It came on time and was simple to unroll and, very littel smell. Buy one you will love it.

This mattress seemed fine. It came UPS which is great. The mattress puffed up like it is supposed to. It is very FIRM - hard even. I have had a memory foam before (order from Overstock) and it was fantastic. We loved it. The worst part of the mattress is the chemical smell. It just won't go away. We have even moved it out on the semi-enclosed porch each morning for the last week to let it air out more. We are having to wash the sheets and blankets every day as the smell is gagging. When you walk in the bedroom the smell hits you in the face. It smells like a combination of paint, varnish, grease and other chemicals. We are on the verge of just throwing it out. We thought about selling it on Craigslist but I wouldn't want anyone to have to deal with this.

I know the trouble I had finding good reviews so I will try to make this as complete as possible: 1) Delivery/Packaging (2/5): I ordered on Saturday, it was here first thing Wednesday morning. It arrived wrapped up in a big black bag that was pretty easy to drag into the house. However, after I started to unpack the mattress I found that it wasn't entirely sealed. I'm not sure if it was opened by someone or if it was just never fully sealed from the factory, but either way it really annoyed me, and if I had realized earlier (before I started to cut it open) I probably would have requested a new one. I think things like this should be 100% sealed. 2) Set up (5/5): Very easy. Took about 5 minutes and a pair of scissors. I'm only about 5'3 but pretty strong. If you're unsure of your strength, you might want to wait for someone to help you. Hint: set it up in the bedroom you're using it in. This thing is big, heavy. and cumbersome once it's unwrapped. 3) Comfort/Sleeping (4.5/5): This mattress is very comfortable. When I first put my hand on it, I thought "oh no, it's a marshmallow", but once your full body weight is on it, it is very supportive. I sleep every way, but I found this mattress the most comfortable on my side and stomach. I always get super hot when I sleep, and I didn't find this mattress any warmer than a normal one. I didn't let this mattress sit for 48 hours before sleeping on it (I was sleeping on a crappy air mattress and didn't want to deal with it another night). I let the mattress sit for about 12 hours, after which time it was fully fluffed up and measured a hair over 11". Lastly, the smell was barely noticeable. I didn't even notice it until I left the room and came back in. If you stick your face in it, you can smell it but it's really not that bad.
