I selected firm and I feel like it doesn't quite live up to that but not enough that I would send it back. I do wish I had purchased the thicker 12 or 14 in only because it looks so low in the platform bed. I got the gel foam so the mattress wouldn't retain so much heat and it seems to do a fair job.Read More
I used to be up every other hour with lower back pain and could never get comfortable tossing and turning all night. I had a pillow top mattress that we spent over $**** on. When we received the new mattress we opened it and let it out gas for 48 hrs, and we have no stink from this mattress. When I first laid down I felt my ribs re adjust. I fell asleep with in 10 minutes, no tossing no turning. We have had this mattress for 2 weeks and my lower back pain is gone and I sleep through the night with no problems. My husband has experienced the same. Either we are sleeping soundly or our snoring has stopped. LOL. Would recommend this to everyone.Read More
I love this mattress. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that 14 inches is really really tall, my bedspread which fit my other king mattress doesn't quite cover this one and my sheets need to be replaced. It is tall to get into the bed also as my bed is a little high off the floor to begin with. Had I thought of this before, I would have bought the 12 inch mattress instead.Read More
Super comfortable, mattress stays cool , since I live in the Southwest heat is not always a positive thing. I now sleep cool and comfortable. I have recomended this mattress to several members.Read More
Great product for the price. I love the *** shipping and the ease of getting the mattress through the door (since it's shrink wrapped). I ordered the firm mattress based on other reviews stating they did not think it was that firm. For my body type, slender, it is very firm. I'm hoping it eases up a bit, but I believe this was poor ordering on my part. Even though the mattress is firm, I am still satisfied.Read More
I was a bit skeptical about this mattress because the price was relatively low compared to other memory foam mattresses, but I slept on a friends' mattress while visiting and they said to check Overstock for the brand. Boy, I wish I knew about this sooner! When my husband and I moved in together we bought a new mattress from a store in town. It was a good deal - cost about the same as this foam mattress, but was an innerspring - and was comfortable but it started to dent and sag after only 8 months! This mattress is far more comfortable than the innerspring we bough last year. We both liked very firm innerspring mattresses, however we found ourselves preferring this memory foam mattress even though it gives a bit when you lie on it. There is still a substantial amount of support, but you do sink in just a little. It kind of feels like sleeping on a marshmallow. There is far less bouncing when the other person moves around, which only contributes to the quality of our sleep. My husband is a warm sleeper, so much so that we usually run the ceiling fan during all 4 seasons, but he has said he's not too hot sleeping on this mattress. We both have noted an improvement in sore backs and necks, I was actually able to get rid of one of my pillows. I really cannot recommend this mattress enough! In fact, my only complaint is that the mattress is so comfortable, I'm having a hard time getting up with my alarm in the morning because I just want to stay in my amazingly comfortable bed as long as possible.Read More
We needed to replace our guest mattress and did not want to spend an arm and a leg. My sister was here for the weekend with her 6 ft hubby . They said it was very comfortable and not too firm. Some people mentioned a smell, and we did not think that it was bad at all. We left the window cracked and aired it out over night. We put a mattress cover on and made the bed in the morning. No smell at all. Dont think twice about this mattress. We are very happy with it.Read More
very happy with the mattress. one of us gets mild back problems and the other does not so we went for a medium and it worked out perfect. i think soft would create too much of a sinking feeling. and firm would feel like sleeping on the floor. left the mattress airing for 48 hours. definitely gets to 10 inches within the first 3 hours but better follow the instructions. no smell at all. mattress comes vacuumed sealed, in a tightly packed plastic, and in a big black bag. came a day early.Read More
I love this mattress! It is the most comfortable one that I have ever had. It is firm but it molds around my body and feels so good when I go to bed. When I get into bed, I smile and say "ah"! I am so happy I bought this one!Read More

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

Similar in size to a standard king bed, a California king bed is four inches longer, allowing a lot of extra room top to bottom. Before you pick which king mattress is right for you, here are a few of the best reasons to choose a California king bed.
