  • Works amazingly well but died abruptly

    Oct 31, 2013

I bought this item, and it worked rather well. As described, it makes everything from rice to pot roast and functions as a rice cooker, a slow cooker, and a pressure cooker. I used it four or five times a month until just after the warranty expired. A minor part failed and was replaced, and then the entire unit died suddenly in the middle of a cycle, ruining our dinner. Repair costs about as much with shipping as a new unit, so I am rather disappointed.

  • Perfect size for one

Good size, like the style and design. Have a smaller oval slow cooker, but it only works for small pieces of meat. This one is large enough that I can put meat, veggies, broth or soup all in and it doesn't run over while cooking. Have already used it twice in the past week and am getting ready to use it today. Love the convenience of putting all the ingredients in, then leaving it alone until dinner time.

Each of the crocks are quite large (2.5 quart each) compared to most other multi-unit slow cookers and easily held enough hot dog cheese sauce and chili for the 40 guests, with one left over for a batch of nacho cheese sauce to go with tortilla chips. Each section has its own heat control settings (high/low/warm/off) and all heated up very quickly. In fact, if you use the high setting be sure to keep an eye on things because it gets hot!!! Within about 30 minutes the cheese sauces and the chili were all bubbling. I turned them down to warm and everything held a perfect temperature with no scorching or sticking whatsoever (even after 4 hours). Cleanup was a snap!! The only reason I knocked off one point for quality is because when I unboxed mine, it didn't sit flat on the counter. But just some gentle downward pressure on opposing corners straightened it right out. All in all, this is a g...

It is great if you work odd hours. I like the idea of putting dinner together and setting the timer knowing it is done when I get home.
