Not good value for the workmanship
from Henderson, NV,  Nov 12, 2007

I only got this bookshelf because it was the right dimensions and color for my twin girls playroom. I already knew it was particle board and going to be somewhat chincey, but purchased it anyway for the reasons stated above. When I received it, I was surprised that I could assemble it myself, but was very disappointed in the fact that some of the doors on the cabinet wouldn't stay in, which was due to poor workmanship. I thought maybe it was just me, so I had my husband look at it and he confirmed that there is no way to keep some of those doors from coming out of the track. Maybe the shelf you purchase will have better workmanship. Luckily I didn't need the doors on the two middle shelves anyway. But if I had to do it over again, I definitely would've purchased it somewhere else because of the price and everything.

Functional but not well made.
from Edgwater, Maryland,  Mar 27, 2007

This cabinet will suffice but I would not buy it again. The sliding doors keep coming of the tracks. Very flimsy looking materials.

Great storage, foul smell
from Portsmouth, VA,  May 27, 2006

I purchased two cabinets. They offer great storage, and good quality for the price. They have a very foul odor. I would refer to a friend.

This is a good product. I bought it to use for a kitchen pantry and it certainly holds a lot. Assembly was not difficult which was a plus for me. The doors and the general construction are a little more flimsy than I would like ideally, but for the price it is a good piece. I like that the doors slide rather than opening out since the space I have it in is not wide.

3 years old and still in great shape!
from acworth, ga,  Jan 12, 2007

I purchased this from Overstock 3 years ago and still value it! True, this is not a storage closet for high use in my home - i use it in the laundry room to store supplies, winter accessories, table cloths, etc. For my use is has been wonderful! Easy to assemble, doors slide open easily. For the price, length of longevity and the function - I am one happy customer!

Cabinet a bit smaller than I thought. It was also missing one door .

This is a very nice cabinet for a space where no room for a door swing. Sliding doors need the knobs closer to the edge and the door width could be reduced some to allow for more clearance when the door is open.

Once again, score big for "O"! I LOVE this piece. I have one bathroom and needed lots of covered storage in a small space. The sliding doors don't require extra clearance room, so I could accomodate a deeper cabinet- tons of storage, and the shelves are tall enough for big bottles! I ordered the oak, and swapped out the cheap plastic knobs inc. for nicer ones, which took it from prefab to fab! (use the screws from the knobs they send, since the door fronts are very shallow). FABULOUS!

This was the easiest piece of furniture we have ever assembled. Initally, there was a missing door knob and the kicker board was missing, as we received a shorter board that had no drill holes. These parts were promptly replaced after we contacted the company that made this piece. There was a distinctive odor that was very offensive at first but seems to be dissipating or we are just getting used to it. It looks good and is a very useful piece.

Holds & Hides a lot.
 from Virginia,  Nov 5, 2011

This is a nice cabinet for storing craft supplies, kids misc stuff, or anything you would like out of view for less clutter. With the sliding doors, you don't have to allow for door swing, so you don't need a lot of depth.

  • How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Good
  • Please tell us about the quality of the product. Particle board. But good for the price I paid
  • How accurate was the on site description of the product? Excellent

Worked for my kids room

Definitely lacks quality. The little doors are very thin and are not easy to close even after 2 weeks. Very temporary product.

Good storage
from Torrance, CA,  Nov 9, 2010

I use this white finish cabinet in my closet for my gift bags, boxes and mailing materials so that my cats don't get into them and have a hay-day. It's sturdy and the doors slide fairly easily. It was pretty easy to put together and fits just under the clothes rod in the closet so I didn't have to remove the rod.

Suits the need
from Dallas, TX,  Jan 30, 2009

Thinking about less space required for the sliding door cabinet than the usual open door ones, I purchased this item. Unit is fairly heavy, which is good. It's fairly easy to assemble, except for putting nails in the middle of the back plank since can't quite feel where the shelves are after it's been covered, if you don't judge/align it well will miss the board completely. Which is the same problem for a lot of this kind of assembly anyway. It is easier if you put the doors in before putting the two sides together, that is, shelves attach to one side of the board, add door knobs to the doors, add doors to the shelves/side board, attach the other sideboards. It's a good size (compared with others I looked at), but I wish the depth is even bigger. I'm putting this in my kid's playroom, some of the board games are just too big for it.

Great product!
 from Ohio,  Apr 2, 2008

I purchased this cabinet so my daughter can put her stuff away, but still have it handy - we were using bookshelves before and it looked very messy. This cabinet is quite large, and neatly hides most of her toys, games, papers, etc. It was only a little more difficult to assemble than a bookcase due to the sliding doors, but after I figured out how to do it on the first set, the rest went more smoothly. I do suggest putting the knobs on before you put the sliding doors on - it's a bit awkward fitting your arm inside with the screw driver. I'm thinking about buying another one to hide my husband's computer games, cords, and disks!

Easy to put together. Amazed how all the holes fit where they were supposed to! Use a battery operated screw driver and it's 1-2-3.

Poor Sliding Doors
 from Georgia,  Jun 18, 2007

The sliding doors on the top shelf don't line up right and keep coming out of the groove. I picked this one because it fit the space I needed, but the craftsmanship is shoddy.

Poor Quality
from New Jersey,  Dec 19, 2006

I was disappointed with the cabinet. I felt for the price it was very cheaply made. The doors are very thin, pressed cardboard and the back is cardboard. The only good thing I can say about it, is that it was pretty easy to put together. I would not recommend buying this cabinet.
