that this is a rather crude table - probably better for a casual setting and outdoor use than a living room. The slate doesn't fit well and doesn't lay flat. Lamps and decor items won't be level when placed on this table.

This is a really nice table. Good size and very sturdy. Great buy.

I purchased 2 of the end tables and matching coffee table. They look great and only took about 10 minutes each to assemble. They are packed very well so it will take longer to unpack them from the box than it will to put them together. The different shades of the slate are nice and blend well with my earth toned decor. Shipping was fast, I had these only 1 week after I placed the order.

The two end tables arrived in less than a week after ordering. My husband put the first one together in short order. When he removed the table top from the 2nd box a defect in the black edging was immediately evident. I called the 800 number on the box the item was shipped in. The woman I spoke to in customer service was awesome. I told her there was a defect in the table top. She did not even question me, she verified the item and said a new top would be shipped. It was too easy! Within a week the new top arrived. Talk about customer service! The tables look great, the slate pieces match my decor perfectl I have noticed that many stores carry tables that have the slate incorporated in the design. However, I really like the design of the ones from Overstock and the price is great but my expereince with the customer service was superb!

It was very discouraging when we received the package and the table came in many different pieces. It was very difficult to put together and all the pieces did not fit correctly. When we finally got the tables assembled, over an hour later, we were pleased with their look and they are a good quality for the money spent.

These tables were well worth the wait. I purchased the coffee table, but the end tables were out of stock, as they are now. When they finally came back, I ordered them asap. They look great, and are just as described. One reviewer wrote "The slate doesn't fit well and doesn't lay flat. Lamps and decor items won't be level when placed on this table". Please understand two things: 1) these are pieces of slate, not manufactured tiles; no two will be alike and 2) the center of the beveled glass is 14.5 inches square - plenty of room for a lamp or decor items to lay flat. Additionally, the pieces of slate are "inlaid" between the outer steel frame pieces, which are level (and even with the non-beveled part of the glass). The slate border is on the edge and is about 2 3/4" wide, which would be way too small for any lamp. Yes, they are all slightly different and can be uneven, but the are on the outer edge, not an area I would place a lamp or decor items. I love the black frame, the natural slate and the glass, enough so that I just ordered the matching sofa table. Easy to clean and looks sharp. One other note - these are made of steel, glass and slate. No weight is noted with the description, but I knew they would be heavy and they are. Please understand that if you put these on carpeting they will make indents in it.

Previously ordered the sofa/cocktail table and loved them so much that I had to order the end tables. I waited approximately 6 mos. for them to return to stock and am very happy now to have a complete set of tables.

this is a nice table but it is a little higher and larger than an average end table (being square) and is wicked heavy. The slate pieces add interest but are uneven, rough, and there are gaps between them that are real dust and food catchers. I would not have bought this table in person. Sorry!

• Please tell us about the quality of the product. the metal frame is really sturdy and the glas insert is nicely beveled but the slate pieces are rough and not "finished" in any way

I ordered 2 of these tables. They are better than I expected. They match my existing tile top table beautifully. If you are on the fence about buying them, I would suggest that you do. They are very easy to put together and easy to keep cleean.

I bought this table along with the matching console table. I like the end table the best. The bottom shelf of the end table is in better proportion than the one on the console table. Good news is that the tiles on both table match. The table was easy to put together just with the alum wrench tool provided in the package. I assembled it myself with no help :)

These tables are nice and sturdy and generous in size for the price. They are perfect for my t.v. room where we often have food and drinks and I don't have to worry about a wood surface getting damaged. They were easy to assemble as well. Very happy with my purchase.

This slate, glass and steel table is very sturdy and substantial. It is also a very attractive addition to my Tuscan style living room.

I love this table. I put it together by myself, directions were very good and in less than 30 minutes I had it in my living room. I love it, the price was fabulous, I will purchase more from Overstock because of their fast service and great prices!

Table was extremely well packed so lots of packaging to throw out but that kept table safe in transit. Table looks fantastic once assembled and fits into the modern decor I was looking for. Table is heavy so very sturdy and as long as you are smart about the tempered glass this should last a very long time. I bought matching coffee table and both look great.

I liked the quality and they were easy to assemble. However, the magnified picture appeared to show the color of the table as dark brown. We received black. I did not return the tables due to the trouble involved, but I suppose I could have. We decided to keep them and repaint them to work into our color scheme.

Love the tables, they were delivered promptly and easy to assemble. One of the glass panels was marred, but the manufacturer quickly and with no questions asked, sent a replacement.

The table arrived intact, packaged well and shipped in a reasonable amount of time. The frame is high quality but can be a bit tricky to put together because of the shelf; you may have to detach a table leg, adhere the shelf, then reattach. Be aware that the frame is black. I've read comments about the slate being "glued" into the top of the table, which is true. Some of the pieces are not precisely flat, and ours were more of a uniform color than I would have liked, but the slate colors vary table to table. You put the slate in the shelf yourself. All in all, the table is quite good-looking, very sturdy and an excellent value for the money.

Easy to put together and look sharp. Perfect for the price.
