This drill has the power to drive long wood screws into studs with ease. Moreover, the adjustable torque allows you the more delicate touch needed to drill gently into particle board. I've also found the forward/reverse slider switch (located near the trigger) to be a convenient design feature. I don't think this drill is built for heavy duty use (i.e. construction contractors or industrial), but it is a very capable tool for Joe American's toolbox.
wow it cost me less to get a new drill Plus the one with a stud finder than it would cost to buy a battery pack...arrived quickly and immediately put to use!!
First of all the stud finder from my drill doesn't work at all. Never has from the day I owned it. I know, I know, I could have sent it back, but I didn't buy the drill for the stud finder. The drill works fine and has descent power, but the battery doesn't hold a very long charge, no matter how long you charge it. Best have another drill as a backup or get extra batteries for this one.
now i have no qualms about buying refurbished--mine works like new. it came with a couple scuffs, but i dont see how anybody could be bothered on a power tool. comes in a sturdy plastic case, with strong latches, a battery charger, and an instruction book stamped "one year warranty". dont know if ill ever have to claim it, cause this tool is quality.
