When I first got this, I thought it was nice, but didn't really realize how much it would grow on me over time. After 6 months, I love it! It took hours and hours and lots of patience to put together, but it was worth it. Have someone help you, or pay someone else to do it. It probably won't be something you'll finish in one day.....the door rollers for the top 3 sections were the most difficult thing. But I love it. Love, Love, Love it!!! Ahem, can you tell that I was happy with this unit?!
This is a beautiful, high quality piece of furniture with ample space for media storage that does take some time assembling (but it's easy). However, this unit is NOT properly designed for a real A/V system. Because of the assembly for the sliding doors on top, a standard sized receiver does not fit unless you take the door off. We have 6 components that we need stored in here (DVD, stereo, receiver, center channel speaker, blue ray player and gaming system), and they do not all fit, even though the compartments are very wide, because they are too narrow height-wise. We still have to stack components on top of the unit. Also, the ventilation is not very good--our blue ray player really heats up and we will have to rig up a fan in there to air it out. That being said, if you are planning to use this for the basics -- less than 3 components, no receiver, this is more than adequate which is why I am only giving it 2 stars but still recommending it.
This is a beautiful piece - exactly what we wanted. However, it took my husband and I 6 hours to put together. We are usually really good and efficient at assembling furniture from instructions but this one had many, many pieces and was quite complicated. If you have someone you could trust to assemble, it would be worth spending the money to have them do it.

I just love my new TV console! I had spent months looking for a unit that would hide all the unsightly TV/stereo components and was disappointed in what I found at the local furniture stores. They were all overpriced and had open shelves. Overstock's entertainment unit is 100% rubberwood with the exception of drawer bottoms and unit back. The wood is beautiful - a rick dark brown. The construction is excellent, with great attention to detail. The drawers and top compartments open and close smoothly, and they line up perfectly. Adjusting was a bit tricky though. The only down side is the lenght of time it took my husband and me to assemble it - about 6 hours. Having read prior reviews, I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I'm glad I made the purchase because it's well worth the time we put into assembly. Because of the generous width - about 80 inches - it looks perfect with a 52" flat screen LCD TV!

I was surprised just how beautiful this furniture was. Its rich color and quality was more than I expected. Although a bit challenging and time consuming to put together, the price was well worth it. I would definately recommend this unit. It is difficult to find such a long media center. I am thrilled with this furniture!!
