For furniture you have to assemble, this was quite satisfactory. It was made of better materials than you see in a lot of furniture you assemble at home. It is exactly what we needed for our eat-in kitchen area. The hutch has a surprising amount of room and has now become the wine/liquor cabinet. The only drawback I see is the seat upholstery, which is easily soiled and not so easily cleaned. This is not a deal breaker for me, as I can alway replace the seat upholstery myself when it gets looking bad. You will need someone handy to put it together, as there are quite a few instructions and quite a few pieces to be put together. I would say that someone with moderate skills could put it together with no problem. My husband assembled it in about two hours.
It took hours to assemble the buffet, and once complete, it was a rickety mess. The buffet clearly could not tolerate much use. There is pressed wood or something at the back and sides. The front frame would not stay attached. But when I phone Overstock, they immediately took care of my issue and agreed to a return at their expense. Other than the wasted time and effort, I am well satisfied with the outcome.

Looks better in person. The server top has scratches in it but the whole set was only $*** Great set for a small living room. The table probably wont fit more then 4 people. The server acts as a great extra storage. Make sure to have your own tools to put together the set cause what they give you to use will take you forever to finish. Took us 5 hours to complete with the first day just using their tools. Second day we got tools and the next thing we knew it was already done.

Set was cute and of fair quality. Chairs were scratched and missing holes needed to attached legs which made the assembly much harder and longer. Buffet was scratched and some spots looked as if they were missed in the painting process. We had to touch up with black paint as well as prepare three out of the four chairs for the legs to be attached.
I have never ordered furniture online so I took a risk with overstock because all my other overstock orders have been high quality as well as deals! My husband is an engineer and very good with assembly. He had difficulty with the chairs (which were the highest quality of all pieces!). The table top was damaged and has a big scratch from shipping. The cabinet doesn't fit together right and there is an opening in the back! The table top is very hard to keep clean. Hand prints/smudges hard to clean off! I wanted a simple black dining set and got a nightmare! I can't imagine how to take a part and ship back- especially the cost and time! Ugh! Save yourself the trouble, don't get this!
